Abstract

The problems discussed in this research are (1) how the effectiveness of metaphor on the collection of poems Suatu Cerita dari Negeri Angin in Ullmann's classification, (2) how the implication to the study of literature in high school. The purpose of this research is (1) to describe the effectiveness of metaphor on the collection of poems Suatu Cerita dari Negeri Angin in Ullmann's classification, and (2) to describe the implication to the study of literature in SMA. This research uses descriptive qualitative method. The data in this research are phrases, clauses and stanzas which are considered classified as Ullmann's classification metaphor. Techniques of data collection using reading and writing techniques. The technique of data validity uses triangulation of investigators. Data analysis techniques using literature content analysis techniques. In this study found that the effectiveness of metaphor in a collection of poems Suatu Cerita dari Negeri Angin less effective, because most of the poem using anthropomorphic metaphor. The implications of this research for the study of literature in high school include three domains, (1) for students, in a narrow scope the metaphor can be applied in literary writing, in the broad scope of metaphors can be used students as a form of politeness in communicating, (2) for teachers, metaphors can be applied as an effort to simplify the concept or subject matter, and (3) for school facilities, useful metaphors for changing the atmosphere in the school environment so as not to be boring.

Additional Information:	Permasalahan yang dibahas dalam penelitian ini yaitu (1) bagaimana efektivitas metafora pada kumpulan puisi Suatu Cerita dari Negeri Angin dalam klasifikasi Ullmann, (2) bagaimana implikasinya terhadap pembelajaran sastra di SMA. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini yakni (1) mendeskripsikan efektivitas metafora pada kumpulan puisi Suatu Cerita dari Negeri Angin dalam klasifikasi Ullmann, dan (2) mendeskripsikan implikasinya terhadap pembelajaran sastra di SMA. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Data dalam penelitian ini berupa frasa, klausa dan bait yang diduga tergolong metafora klasifikasi Ullmann. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik baca dan catat. Teknik keabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi penyidik. Teknik analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis konten sastra. Pada penelitian ini ditemukan bahwa efektivitas metafora dalam kumpulan puisi Suatu Cerita dari Negeri Angin kurang efektif, dikarenakan sebagain besar puisi menggunakan metafora antropomorfis. Implikasi penelitian ini bagi pembelajaran sastra di SMA meliputi tiga ranah, (1) bagi siswa, dalam lingkup yang sempit metafora dapat diterapkan dalam penulisan sastra, dalam lingkup yang luas metafora dapat digunakan siswa sebagai bentuk kesantunan dalam berkomunikasi, (2) bagi guru, metafora dapat diterapkan sebagai upaya penyederhanaan konsep atau materi pelajaran, dan (3) bagi sarana atau fasilitas sekolah, metafora bermanfaat untuk merubah suasana di lingkungan sekolah agar tidak membosankan.
