Abstract

This study examines the Comparison of Political Communication Between the Gerindra Party and the Garuda Party in the 2019 General Election in Serang City. The Gerindra Party in the 2019 election won the most votes in Serang City and the Garuda Party won the lowest votes during the 2019 election in Serang City. Therefore, to understand the comparison of party communication, the researcher uses Lilleker's Political Communication theory which is associated with comparison. In Lilleker's theory, there are 4 indicators, namely the first is the traditional view of political communication, the second is the level of political communication, the third is the elements of political communication, and the fourth is the model of political communication. The research method used in this study is a qualitative research method with a descriptive-comparative approach. The results of this study indicate that the comparison of political communication from the two parties has similarities and differences from each indicator in Lilleker's Communication theory. First, in the comparison of traditional views on political communication, the differences and similarities are that they have similarities in the approach to the community and the differences are campaigning by going directly and the approach of friendship. Second, the level of political communication, the differences and similarities are active participation in society and the differences are conveying political messages. Third, the elements of political communication, the differences and similarities are that they have the goal of conveying political messages to the public and the differences are the communication patterns used during the campaign. Fourth, the political communication model, the differences and similarities are that they have a communication model that goes directly to the public to provide information, and the differences are that they use a persuasive approach and a more structured approach that emphasizes communication activities through parties and cadres.

Additional Information:	Penelitian ini mengkaji tentang Perbandingan Komunikasi Politik Antara Partai Gerindra Dengan Partai Garuda Pada Pemilihan Umum 2019 di Kota Serang. Partai Gerindra pada pemilu 2019 mendapatkan perolehan suara terbanyak di Kota Serng dan Partai Garuda mendapatkan perolehan suara terendah pada saat pemilu 2019 di Kora Serang. Oleh karena itu, memahami perbandingan komunikasi partai tersebut peneliti menggunakan teori Komunikasi Politik Lilleker yang dikaitkan dengan perbandingan. Dalam teori Lilleker ini ada 4 indikator, yaitu yang pertama pandangan tradisional komunikasi politik, kedua yaitu tingkatan komunikasi politik, ketiga yaitu unsur komunikasi politik, dan keempat yaitu model komunikasi politik. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian kualitatif dengan jenis pendekatan deskriptif-komparatif. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa adanya perbandingan komunikasi politik dari kedua partai tersebut memiliki persamaan dan perbedaan dari tiap indikator dalam teori Komunikasi Lilleker. Pertama, dalam perbandingan pandangan tradisional tentang komunikasi politik, perbedaan dan persamaan yaitu mempunyai kesamaan pada pendekatan dengan masyarakat dan perbedaannya melakukan kampanye dengan turun langsung dan pendekatan silaturahmi. Kedua, tingkatan komunikasi politik, perbedaan dan persamaan yaitu partisipasi aktif dalam masyarakat dan perbedaannya menyampaikan pesan politik. Ketiga, unsur komunikasi politik, perbedaan dan persamaan yaitu memiliki tujuan untuk menyampaikan pesan politik ke masyarakat dan perbedaannya pola komunikasi yang digunakan saat kampanye. Keempat, model komunikasi politik, perbedaan dan persamaan yaitu memiliki model komunikasi turun langsung ke masyarakat untuk memberikan informasi, dan perbedaannya menggunakan pendekatan persuasif dan pendekatan lebih terstruktur yang menenkankan kegiatan komunikasi melalui partai dan kaderisasi.
