Abstract
This study examines the tahfidz and language club programs in shaping the character of students at the Al Muhaimin Modern Islamic Boarding School. The purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of the tahfidz and language club programs and their impact on the character building of students. The approach used was qualitative with descriptive methods, and data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation from twenty-three respondents, including principals, educators, and students. The results showed that the tahfidz and language club programs have a significant role in the formation of santri character. The tahfidz program, which focuses on memorizing the Qur'an, helps to increase students' faith and piety. Meanwhile, the language club program helps develop students' foreign language skills and self-confidence. However, this study also found several obstacles in the implementation of the program, such as the number of students who underestimate or do not obey the predetermined memorization deposit schedule, the methods and strategies used during language club learning are not specific and clear. In addition, the lack of self-confidence so that there are bad habits that they still do, then also some students still feel jealous and the sense of their home environment they still bring to the boarding school, which can hinder character building. In conclusion, despite the challenges in implementation, the tahfidz and language club programs are effective in shaping the character of students at Al Muhaimin Modern Islamic Boarding School. This study recommends improving teaching methods and increasing emotional support for santri to optimize character building outcomes.

| Additional Information: | Penelitian ini mengkaji program tahfidz dan language club dalam membentuk karakter santri di Pondok Pesantren Modern Al Muhaimin. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan program tahfidz dan language club serta dampaknya terhadap pembentukan karakter santri. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif, dan data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi dari dua puluh tiga responden, termasuk kepala sekolah, pendidik, dan santri. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa program tahfidz dan language club memiliki peran signifikan dalam pembentukan karakter santri. Program tahfidz, yang berfokus pada hafalan Al-Qur'an, membantu meningkatkan keimanan dan ketakwaan santri. Sementara itu, program language club membantu mengembangkan keterampilan berbahasa asing dan rasa percaya diri santri. Namun, penelitian ini juga menemukan beberapa kendala dalam pelaksanaan program, seperti masih banyaknya santri yang menyepelekan atau tidak menaati jadwal setoran hafalan yang telah ditentukan, metode dan strategi yang digunakan saat pembelajaran language club tidak spesifik dan jelas. Selain itu, kurangnya rasa percaya diri sehingga ada kebiasaan buruk yang masih mereka lakukan, lalu juga sebagian diri santri masih merasa iri hati dan rasa lingkungan rumahnya masih mereka bawa ke pondok pesantren, yang dapat menghambat pembentukan karakter. Kesimpulannya, meskipun terdapat tantangan dalam implementasi, program tahfidz dan language club efektif dalam membentuk karakter santri di Pondok Pesantren Modern Al Muhaimin. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan perbaikan metode pengajaran dan peningkatan dukungan emosional untuk santri guna mengoptimalkan hasil pembentukan karakter. | |||||||||
