Abstract
Lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) is one of leafy vegetables that have high economic value in Indonesia and it gives good benefits to the consumers. The use of organic fertilizers is expected to be more optimal in agriculture today, considering the impact of the use of inorganic fertilizers which may damage the soil and increase the environmental pollution with chemical residues accumulation in the soil, resulting in decreased land productivity. This study aims to determine the response of growth and yield of lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) to the concentration of biological fertilizer with different variety. The design used in this study was a randomized block design consisting of 2 factors and 3 replicates. The first factor was the concentration of bioboost biological fertilizer consisting of 5 treatment levels ie B0=0 ml (control), B1= 40 ml, B2= 80 ml, B3= 120 ml, B4= 160 ml/liter of water and the second factor was different variety of lettuce is kriebo variety and variety grand rapid. Of the above two factors obtained 10 treatment combinations, each treatment was repeated as much as 3 times so that there are 30 units of experiments that are randomly arranged. The results of this study indicate that the concentration of bioboost fertilizer has a signifiicant effect on the growth of lettuce plant, but did not have a noticeable effect on the lettuce yield. Where the concentration of 120 ml/liter of water (B3) gives an week after planting with value of 7,20 cm in kriebo variety and also gives effect on leaf width parameter at 5 and 6 week after planting that is with value 2,84 and 3,01 cm for kriebo variety. But has no effect on the wet weight of the plant, the dry weight of the plant and the content of lettuce chlorophyll.
