Abstract
This research is motivated by the unique lyrics of the song “Bertaut,” which explores the relationship between mother and child and employs interesting figurative language. The focus of this study lies in the use of signifiers and signifieds to analyze textual elements in the lyrics, such as words, phrases, and metaphors used by Nadin Amizah in the song “Bertaut,” and to explore the meanings or concepts represented by these textual elements to uncover the moral message. The research limitations include the specific use of Ferdinand de Saussure's semiotic theory, focusing only on the concepts of signifier and signified, without considering Saussure's four other perspectives, and analyzing only the lyrics of the song “Bertaut.” The aim of this study is to understand and describe the meaning and moral message within the song's lyrics. The method used is qualitative with a semiotic approach based on Ferdinand de Saussure's theory. The subject of the research is Nadin Amizah, the musician and songwriter of “Bertaut,” while the object is the song's lyrics. Data collection techniques include literature study, controlled observation, structured interviews, and documentation. Data analysis is carried out through data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. Validity tests include extending observations, increasing perseverance, and triangulation. The results of the study indicate that the lyrics of “Bertaut” address the theme of the mother-child relationship. The entire lyrics convey the challenges of life's journey and how the mother figure becomes the main pillar providing emotional support, guidance, and strength. The moral value that can be drawn from this song is the importance of the family role, especially the mother, in providing consistent emotional support, guiding through difficult situations, and helping shape character and provide life stability. This song teaches the importance of appreciating and recognizing the mother's role in our lives.

| Additional Information: | Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh keunikan lirik lagu “Bertaut” yang bertema hubungan antara ibu dan anak serta penggunaan kata-kata kiasan yang menarik. Fokus penelitian ini terletak pada penggunaan penanda dan petanda untuk menganalisis elemen tekstual dalam lirik lagu, seperti kata, frasa, dan metafora yang digunakan oleh Nadin Amizah pada lirik lagu “Bertaut”, dan mengeksplorasi makna atau konsep yang diwakili oleh elemen-elemen tekstual tersebut untuk menemukan pesan moral. Batasan penelitian ini meliputi penggunaan teori semiotika Ferdinand de Saussure secara khusus pada konsep penanda (signifier) dan petanda (signified) tanpa mempetimbangkan empat padangan Saussure lainnya, dan hanya menganalisis pada bagian lirik dari lagu “Bertaut”. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memahami serta mendeskripsikan makna dan pesan moral dalam lirik lagu tersebut. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan semiotika Ferdinand de Saussure. Subjek penelitian ini adalah Nadin Amizah, musisi dan pencipta lagu “Bertaut”, sedangkan objeknya adalah lirik lagu tersebut. Teknik pengumpulan data mencakup studi kepustakaan, observasi terkendali, wawancara terstruktur, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan melalui reduksi data, penyajian data, dan verifikasi data. Uji keabsahan meliputi perpanjangan pengamatan, peningkatan ketekunan, dan triangulasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa lirik lagu “Bertaut” mengangkat tema tentang hubungan ibu dan anak. Keseluruhan liriknya memiliki makna mengenai perjalanan hidup yang penuh tantangan dan bagaimana sosok ibu menjadi pilar utama yang memberikan dukungan emosional, bimbingan, dan kekuatan. Nilai moral yang dapat diambil dari lagu ini adalah pentingnya peran keluarga, terutama ibu, dalam memberikan dukungan emosional yang konsisten, membimbing dalam situasi sulit, serta membantu membentuk karakter dan memberikan stabilitas hidup. Lagu ini mengajarkan betapa pentingnya menghargai dan mengakui peran ibu dalam kehidupan kita. | |||||||||
