Abstract
This thesis discusses the role of the principal as a leader in developing school culture at SDN Ciwandan. The principal has an important role in building school culture. A school culture that is less effective in its implementation can reduce school performance and minimize the school's strategic management process, so that the school's vision and mission cannot be achieved. The success of an educational institution is determined not only by the completeness of facilities and infrastructure, quality teachers and good student input, but school culture plays a role in increasing school effectiveness. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of the principal as a leader in developing school culture. This study uses a qualitative research method. Two types of data used in this study are primary and secondary. This study collected data through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis used is data reduction, data presentation and triangulation. The informants in this study were teachers and education personnel. The results of the study showed that the principal had carried out his role as a leader well, seen from the culture developed at SDN Ciwandan. SDN Ciwadan has a culture including welcoming students with 7S (Smile, Greeting, Greeting, Polite, Courteous, Shaking Hands, Enthusiasm), morning assembly, SEMUTLIS (Ten Minutes for a Healthy Environment), love of the Qur'an, SABSIH (Clean Saturday), and Extracurricular. Building a school culture is not only the responsibility of the principal, all school residents play an important role in building a good school culture.

Additional Information: | Tesis ini membahas tentang Peran kepala sekolah sebagai leader dalam mengembangkan budaya sekolah di SDN Ciwandan. Kepala sekolah memiliki peranan penting dalam membangun budaya sekolah. Budaya sekolah yang kurang efektif dalam pelaksanaannya dapat mengurangi kinerja sekolah dan meminimalisasi dari proses manajemen strategis sekolah, sehingga visi dan misi sekolah tidak bisa tercapai. Keberhasilan lembaga pendidikan ditentukan tidak hanya didukung oleh lengkapnya sarana dan prasarana, guru berkualitas maupun input siswa yang baik, tetapi budaya sekolah berperan terhadap peningkatan keefektifan sekolah. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui peran kepala sekolah sebagai leader dalam mengembangkan budaya sekolah. Penelitian ini mengunakan metode penelitian kualitatif. Dua jenis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah primer dan sekunder. Penelitian ini mengumpulkan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Analisi data yang digunakan adalah reduksi data, penyajian data dan triangulasi. Informan dalam penelitian ini adalah guru dan tenaga kependidikan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kepala sekolah telah melaksanakan perannya sebagai leader dengan baik, dilihat dari budaya yang dikembangkan di SDN Ciwandan. SDN Ciwadan memiliki budaya diantaranya menyambut siswa dengan 7S (Senyum, Salam, Sapa, Sopan, Santun, Salaman, Semangat), apel pagi, SEMUTLIS (Sepuluh Menit untuk Lingkungan Sehat), cinta Al-Qur'an, SABSIH (Sabtu Bersih), dan Ekstrakurikuler. Membangun budaya sekolah bukan hanya tanggung jawab kepala sekolah, semua warga sekolah berperan penting dalam membangun budaya sekolah yang baik. | |||||||||
