Abstract
This study is aimed to find out whether or not there was a significant influence of using Graphic Organizer towards students’ reading comprehension in tenth-grade students’ of SMAN 1 Cikeusal. This study used Quasi-experimental research design by using pre-test, treatment, and post-test. There were 60 students taken as the sample of this study. Each class were consisted of 30 students from class XE as experimental class, and 30 students from class XC as control class. In collecting the data, the test was used 50 multiple choices of analytical exposition text reading comprehension. The test was given twice to experimental and control class, as a pre-test and post-test. The results of pre-test and post-test were examined utilizing SPSS 27 software using independent sample t-test to confirm the hypothesis. The findings showed that the p-output from independent sample t-test was <,001 < 0.05, The t-table for df = 58 was 2.001. The result was 6.452 > 2.001. It means that t-count > t-table, H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. According to the findings, students’ who learnt by utilizing graphic organizer strategy were able to a higher level. The level of significance of influence was at a strong influence or 6.49 > 0.08 based on the result of effect size. It means that teaching reading comprehension by using Graphic Organizer strategy had significant influence towards students’ reading comprehension.

Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian kuasi-eksperimental dengan menggunakan pre-test, perlakuan, dan post-test. Sebanyak 60 siswa diambil sebagai sampel penelitian ini. Setiap kelas terdiri dari 30 siswa dari kelas XE sebagai kelas eksperimen, dan 30 siswa dari kelas XC sebagai kelas kontrol. Dalam mengumpulkan data, tes digunakan berupa 50 pilihan ganda tentang pemahaman membaca teks eksposisi analitis. Tes diberikan dua kali kepada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol, yaitu sebagai pre-test dan post-test. Hasil pre-test dan post-test dianalisis menggunakan perangkat lunak SPSS 27 dengan uji-t sampel independen untuk mengonfirmasi hipotesis. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa output p dari uji-t sampel independen adalah <0,001 < 0,05. T-tabel untuk df = 58 adalah 2,001. Hasilnya adalah 6,452 > 2,001. Ini berarti bahwa t-hitung > t-tabel, H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima. Berdasarkan temuan tersebut, siswa yang belajar dengan memanfaatkan strategi graphic organizer menunjukkan tingkat pemahaman yang lebih tinggi. Tingkat signifikansi pengaruhnya adalah pada pengaruh yang kuat atau 6,49 > 0,08 berdasarkan hasil ukuran efek. Ini berarti bahwa pengajaran pemahaman membaca dengan menggunakan strategi Graphic Organizer memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap pemahaman membaca siswa. | |||||||||
