Abstract

This study aims to analyze electricity usage and identify energy-saving opportunities at the Rektorat Building of Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University (UNTIRTA) Sindangsari. The methodology involves data collection through direct observation of current, voltage, and power values on the MDP and SDP panels. Further analysis identified several devices that can be replaced or optimized to reduce energy consumption, such as lighting systems and air conditioning (AC) units. The recommended energy-saving actions include reducing power capacity by using energy-efficient lamps and high-efficiency ACs, as well as optimizing the use of electrical equipment. The study results show that the largest energy consumption comes from lighting, air conditioning, equipment, pumps, and elevators. Energy conservation efforts through the replacement of lamps and ACs with more efficient ones reduced energy consumption by 44.62 kWh, with a cost saving of IDR 1,476,179. This research provides recommendations to improve energy efficiency at the Rektorat Building, which can be applied not only at UNTIRTA but also in other buildings with similar characteristics. It is hoped that the findings of this study can contribute to energy conservation efforts and reduce electricity operational costs within the campus environment.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penggunaan energi listrik dan mengidentifikasi peluang penghematan energi di Gedung Rektorat Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa (UNTIRTA) Sindangsari. Metodologi yang digunakan meliputi pengumpulan data melalui observasi langsung terhadap nilai arus, tegangan, dan daya pada panel MDP (Main Distribution Panel) dan SDP (Sub Distribution Panel). Analisis lebih lanjut mengidentifikasi beberapa alat yang dapat diganti atau dioptimalkan untuk mengurangi konsumsi energi, seperti sistem pencahayaan dan pendingin ruangan (AC). Tindakan hemat energi yang disarankan pengurangan kapasitas daya meliputi penggunaan lampu hemat energi dan AC dengan efisiensi tinggi, serta pengaturan penggunaan alat-alat listrik secara optimal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsumsi energi terbesar berasal dari pencahayaan, pendingin ruangan, peralatan, pompa, dan lift. Upaya konservasi energi melalui penggantian lampu dan AC dengan daya yang lebih efisien mampu mengurangi konsumsi energi sebesar 44,62 kWh, dengan penghematan biaya mencapai Rp 1.476.179. Penelitian ini memberikan rekomendasi untuk meningkatkan efisiensi energi di Gedung Rektorat, yang dapat diterapkan tidak hanya di UNTIRTA tetapi juga di gedung-gedung lain yang memiliki karakteristik serupa. Diharapkan, hasil penelitian ini dapat berkontribusi pada upaya konservasi energi dan pengurangan biaya operasional listrik di lingkungan kampus.
