Abstract

Performance on a vehicle is influenced by many things, one of which is the type of fuel. Pertamax is a unleaded fuel with a complete additive content and has RON 92. Ethanol contains oxygen, the addition of ethanol can increase combustion energy because ethanol includes hydrocarbons (H and C) so that it will increase the structure of gasoline chemical compounds, so the addition of bioethanol can increase the octane number of fuel. In this thesis entitled Analysis of Gasoline Engine Performance with Variations of Pure Pertamax Fuel and Ethanol Mixture. The purpose of this study was to analyze the performance of the Gasoline Engine (power, BHP, SFC, and exhaust gas temperature) on the use of pure pertamax fuel and ethanol mixtures. The method used in this test is an experiment, where direct testing is carried out on gasoline engines. The data obtained on the power of the alternator using the type of fuel is 15% at 3500RPM with a value of 294.48Watts, and the lowest is E0% fuel and 2000RPM engine with a value of 263.8Watts. For BHP, the highest data results were obtained at 3500RPM of E15% fuel type with a value of 409.00Watt, and the lowest E0% fuel at 2000RPM engine speed with a value of 366.39Watt. The SFC value in the data results is the highest E0% fuel with 3500RPM of 16.12kg/Kwh, and the lowest E15% fuel with 2000RPM of 9.15 kg/Kwh. The highest exhaust gas temperature in the engine is 420° fuel type E15% rpm rotation 3500RPM, and the lowest 355° fuel E0% revolution 2000RPM.

Additional Information: Performance pada kendaraan dipengaruhi oleh banyak hal, salah satunya jenis bahan bakar. Pertamax adalah bahan bakar tanpa timbal dengan kandungan aditif lengkap dan mempunyai RON 92. Etanol mengandung oksigen, penambahan etanol dapat meningkatkan energi pembakaran karena etanol termasuk hidrokarbon (H dan C) sehingga akan menambah struktur senyawa kimia gasoline, dengan begitu penambahan bioetanol dapat meningkatkan angka oktan bahan bakar. Pada skripsi ini berjudul Analisa Unjuk Kerja Mesin Bensin dengan Variasi Bahan Bakar Pertamax Murni dan Campuran Etanol. Bertujuan untuk menganalisa unjuk kerja Mesin Bensin (daya, BHP, SFC, dan suhu gas buang) terhadap penggunaan bahan bakar pertamax murni dan campuran etanol. Metode yang digunakan pada pengujian kali ini experimen, dimana dilakukan pengujian langsung pada mesin bensin. Hasil data yang didapatkan terhadap daya alternator penggunaan jenis bahan bakar E15% pada putaran mesin 3500RPM dengan nilai 294,48Watt, dan terendah bahan bakar E0% dan putaran mesin 2000RPM dengan nilai 263,8Watt. Untuk BHP didapatkan hasil data tertinggi 3500RPM jenis bahan bakar E15% dengan nilai 409,00Watt, dan terendah bahan bakar E0% pada putaran mesin 2000RPM dengan nilai 366,39Watt. Nilai SFC pada hasil data tertinggi bahan bakar E0% dengan 3500RPM sebesar 16,12kg/Kwh, dan terendah bahan bakar E15% dengan 2000RPM sebesar 9,15 kg/Kwh. Suhu gas buang pada mesin tertinggi yaitu 420° jenis bahan bakar E15% putaran 3500RPM, dan terendah 355° bahan bakar E0% putaran 2000RPM.
