Abstract

The state's task as an agent of development to increase high economic growth every year followed by equitable distribution is necessary to improve the welfare of the population and reduce poverty. Reducing inequality is the tenth goals of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The RPJMN 2020-2024, which is an important step in the RPJPN 2005-2025, serves as the basis for achieving Indonesia's Vision 2045 or Golden Indonesia with the main target in vision 2, namely Poverty towards 0 per cent and reduced inequality through sustainable development. In contrast to the theory of income distribution according to Nicholas Kaldor, the success of economic development is the difference between economic improvement and income inequality. The achievement of the main indicators of development in 2019-2024 has a unidirectional relationship between income distribution and economic growth. This study aims to analyze how the variables of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP), Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP), Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK), percentage of informal labor, and Average Years of Schooling (RLS) affect Income Inequality in 34 Indonesian Provinces from 2015-2023 with the Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) research method. The result of this study is that Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP), Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) and the percentage of informal labour have a significant positive effect and Average Years of Schooling have a significant negative effect while Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP) has an insignificant negative effect on Income Inequality.
