Abstract
This undergraduate thesis is to explored the effectiveness of using Mini-drama technique in procedure text in increasing students’ speaking skill at tenth-grade of SMAN 1 Gunung Sindur. The objective of this research is to find out whether there is any effectiveness of using Mini-Drama toward students’ speaking skill on procedure text material at tenth grade at SMAN 1 Gunung Sindur. This research used quantitative methodology with quasi-experimental and non-equivalent control group as the research design. The sample of this research was X.6 as the experimental group and X.7 as control group with 30 students in each class. The instrument used in this research was pre-test and post-test that required the students to make procedure text about how to operate and make something. All the data obtained from the students’ scores of pre-test and post-test were analyzed using IBM SPSS 26 version. The data were analyzed by using validity, realibility, normality, homogeneity, and hypothesis test formula and t-test. Hypothesis testing revealed that value t-test was higher than value of t-table (6,755 > 2.00). It indicated the null hypothesis was rejected and the alternative hypothesis was accepted. In conclusion, the use of Mini-drama technique was effective in increasing speaking skill at the tenth-grade of SMAN 1 Gunung Sindur. It is suggested that Mini-drama technique could be alternative technique to teach speaking skill.

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah ada efektivitas penggunaan Mini-Drama terhadap keterampilan berbicara siswa pada materi teks prosedur di kelas sepuluh SMAN 1 Gunung Sindur. Penelitian ini menggunakan metodologi kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian kuasi eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol non-ekuivalen. Sampel penelitian ini adalah kelas X.6 sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan X.7 sebagai kelompok kontrol dengan jumlah siswa 30 orang di masing-masing kelas. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pre-test dan post-test yang mengharuskan siswa untuk membuat teks prosedur tentang cara mengoperasikan dan membuat sesuatu. Semua data yang diperoleh dari nilai pre-test dan post-test siswa dianalisis menggunakan IBM SPSS versi 26. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji validitas, realibilitas, normalitas, homogenitas, dan rumus uji hipotesis dan uji-t. Uji hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa nilai t-test lebih tinggi dari nilai t-tabel (6.755 > 2.00). Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa hipotesis nol ditolak dan hipotesis alternatif diterima. Kesimpulannya, penggunaan teknik Mini-drama efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara di kelas sepuluh SMAN 1 Gunung Sindur. Disarankan bahwa teknik Mini-drama dapat menjadi teknik alternatif untuk mengajarkan keterampilan berbicara. | |||||||||
