Abstract

A country's economic development cannot be separated from the financial sector. The financial sector plays a very important role in increasing economic growth. Therefore, financial deepening is an effort to improve the financial sector to reduce dependence on foreign savings. The aim of this research is to analyze the impact of financial deepening through various variables such as M2/GDP, Bank Credit, Inflation, Bank Indonesia Interest Rates, and Exchange Rates, on Economic Growth in Indonesia. The data used in this research is secondary data ranging from the period 2010Q1 to 2022Q4. The analytical method used in this research is the Vector Error Correction Model (VECM). The conclusion of this research states that the Inflation and Exchange Rate variables have a significant positive influence on Economic Growth. Meanwhile, the M2/GDP, Banking Credit and Bank Indonesia Interest Rate variables have a significant negative influence on Economic Growth in Indonesia. Additional Information: Pembangunan ekonomi suatu negara tidak lepas dari sektor keuangan. Sektor keuangan sangat berperan penting dalam meningkatkan pertumbuhan ekonomi. Oleh karena itu, financial deepening merupakan suatu upaya peningkatan pada sektor keuangan untuk menurunkan ketergantungan pada tabungan luar negeri. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis dampak financial deepening melalui berbagai variabel seperti M2/GDP, Kredit Perbankan, Inflasi, Suku Bunga Bank Indonesia, dan Nilai Tukar, terhadap Pertumbuhan Ekonomi di Indonesia. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini merupakan data sekunder yang berkisar dari periode 2010Q1 hingga 2022Q4. Metode analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Vector Error Correction Model (VECM). Hasil kesimpulan dari penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa variabel Inflasi dan Nilai Tukar memiliki pengaruh positif yang signifikan terhadap Pertumbuhan Ekonomi. Sedangkan variabel M2/GDP, Kredit Perbankan, dan Suku Bunga Bank Indonesia memiliki pengaruh negatif yang signifikan terhadap Pertumbuhan Ekonomi di Indonesia.
