Abstract

This study aims to test the potential of kirinyuh leaf extract (Chromolaena odorata L) which has allelochemical compounds used as a bioherbicide to control jajagoan weed (Echinochloa crus-galli). This research was conducted at the Banten Agricultural Instrument Standardization Implementation Center and Agroclimate Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University using a Non-factorial Randomized Group Design (RAK) consisting of seven levels, with 4 replications, namely: K0: 0% (control: 10 ml chemical herbicide), K1: 5% extract, K2: 10% extract, K3: 15% extract, K4: 20% extract, K5: 25% extract, K6: 30% extract. Kirinyuh leaf extract showed a very significant effect on root dry weight. However, it did not significantly affect plant height, crown wet weight and crown dry weight, root wet weight, and leaf senescence. The best treatment is K4 (0.04 grams) on root dry weight. The application of kirinyuh leaf extract tends to have an effect on the level of leaf decay, namely K2 (32.50%).
