Abstract
The accumulation of waste in Indonesia is still an unsolved problem. Therefore, it is necessary to have waste processing to reduce the accumulation of waste. Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) is an alternative fuel produced from organic waste and inorganic waste. The purpose of this study is to determine the potential of dry leaf biomass waste and multilayer LDPE plastic if used as RDF, to determine the influence of material particle size, pressure, composition, and pressing time on the physical shape of RDF and the characteristics of RDF. This study began with waste collection, drying, enumeration, sieving, mixing of dry leaf biomass and multilayer LDPE plastic with a composition of 95:5, 90:10, and 85:15 (% weight) printed at a pressure of 66 N/cm2, 77 N/cm2, 88 N/cm2 for 1 hour, 1.5 hours, and 2 hours accompanied by heating at a temperature of 80-90. The best research results were RDF composition of 85:15 (% weight), pressure of 88 N/℃cm2 and pressing time of 2 hours with a bulk density value of 0.9393 g/cm3, compressive strength of 11.01 kg/cm2, durability of 98% and a calorific value of 4541.82 cal/g. The results of the FTIR RDF analysis showed the presence of aldehyde, cellulose, phenolic, and ethane compounds.

Additional Information: | Penumpukan sampah di Indonesia masih menjadi masalah yang belum terselesaikan. Oleh karena itu, perlu adanya pengolahan sampah untuk mengurangi penumpukan sampah. Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) merupakan bahan bakar alternatif yang dihasilkan dari sampah organik dan sampah anorganik. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui potensi sampah biomassa daun kering dan plastik LDPE multilayer jika dijadikan RDF, mengetahui pengaruh ukuran partikel bahan, tekanan, komposisi, dan waktu pengepresan terhadap bentuk fisik RDF serta karakteristik RDF. Penelitian ini diawali dengan pengumpulan sampah, pengeringan, pencacahan, pengayakan, pencampuran biomassa daun kering dan plastik LDPE multilayer dengan komposisi 95:5, 90:10, dan 85:15 (%berat) yang dicetak dengan tekanan 66 N/cm2, 77 N/cm2, 88 N/cm2 selama 1 jam, 1,5 jam, dan 2 jam disertai pemanasan dengan temperatur 80-90℃. Hasil penelitian terbaik yaitu RDF komposisi 85:15 (%berat), tekanan 88 N/cm2 dan waktu pengepresan 2 jam dengan nilai bulk density 0,9393 g/cm3, kuat tekan 11,01 kg/cm2, durability 98% serta nilai kalor yang diperoleh sebesar 4541,82 kal/g. Hasil analisa FTIR RDF menunjukkan adanya senyawa aldehida, selulosa, fenolik, dan etena. | ||||||
