Abstract

The attitude of environmental concern is one of the essential characters that must be developed in learning science subjects at junior high school. Essentially, the environment plays a role as a source of learning, learning targets, and learning media for science subjects. Thus, every component of society has a role in preserving the environment, including school-age children. Based on initial interviews conducted by researchers with one of the Grade IX Science teachers in the Mancak area, it was found that students find it difficult to focus on learning due to the lack of variety in teaching methods and the teachers' insufficient skills in creating learning media, which leads to students becoming easily bored during lessons. According to the student responses from the questionnaire regarding environmental concern, it was found that students at that school have a relatively low level of environmental concern. This issue can be addressed through the development of an e-booklet based on the service-learning theme "Let's Take Care of Our School" to cultivate environmental concern among Grade IX junior high school students. This study aims to create a product, describe the level of validity, and assess the readability of the e-booklet based on the service-learning theme. The research model used in this study is the Research and Development (R&D) model. The research design employed the 4D (four-D) development model. The instruments used consisted of expert validation sheets and readability test questionnaires. Subsequently, the data were analyzed both qualitatively and quantitatively. The validation result of this study was 86.67% in the "Very Valid" category. This indicates that the service learning-based e-booklet on the theme of "let's take care of our school" is highly valid in fostering environmental awareness among 9th-grade junior high school students. The readability test result was 81.86% in the "Very Good" category. This shows that the readability level of the e-booklet is considered very good due to its simple language and ease of understanding.

Additional Information: Sikap peduli lingkungan merupakan salah satu karakter yang wajib dikembangkan dalam pembelajaran IPA di SMP. Karena pada dasarnya lingkungan memiliki peran sebagai sumber belajar, sasaran belajar maupun sarana belajar IPA. Sehingga setiap komponen masyarakat memiliki peran dalam menjaga lingkungan, tak terkecuali bagi anak usia sekolah. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara awal peneliti dengan salah satu Guru IPA kelas IX SMP yang berada di daerah Mancak, diketahui bahwa siswa sulit untuk bisa fokus dalam belajar karena kurangnya variasi dalam pembelajaran serta kurangnya keterampilan guru dalam membuat media pembelajaran sehingga siswa mudah bosan ketika belajar. Berdasarkan angket respon siswa mengenai sikap peduli lingkungan, ditemukan bahwa siswa di sekolah tersebut memiliki sikap peduli lingkungan yang masih tergolong rendah. Permasalahan tersebut dapat diatasi dengan pengembangan bahan ajar e-booklet berbasis service learning tema ayo jaga sekolah kita untuk menumbuhkan sikap peduli lingkungan siswa SMP kelas IX. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat produk, mendeskripsikan tingkat validitas serta mendeskripsikan tingkat keterbacaan e-booklet berbasis service learning tema ayo jaga sekolah kita. Model penelitian yang digunakan adalah model pengembangan Research and Development (R&D). Adapun desain penelitiannya menggunakan model pengembangan 4D (four-D). Instrumen yang digunakan berupa lembar angket validasi ahli dan lembar angket uji keterbacaan. Kemudian data dianalisis secara kualitatif dan juga kuantitatif. Hasil validasi penelitian ini sebesar 86,67% pada kategori “Sangat Valid”. Hal ini menunjukan bahwa e-booklet berbasis service learning tema ayo jaga sekolah kita sudah sangat valid untuk menumbuhkan sikap peduli lingkungan siswa SMP kelas IX. Adapun hasil dari uji keterbacaan yaitu sebesar 81,86% pada kategori “Sangat Baik”. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa tingkat keterbacaan e-booklet dinilai sudah sangat baik karena memiliki bahasa yang sederhana dan mudah dipahami.
