Abstract

This study aims to explore the effect and identify whether there is a long-run cointegration relationship between Corruption Perception Index, Exchange Rate, Gross Domestic Product, and Inflation on Foreign Direct Investment in six selected ASEAN countries in the period 2002-2021. The research approach involves the use of panel data, which includes both time series and cross section data, by applying the Dynamic Ordinary Least Square (DOLS) panel cointegration method. The analysis presents the findings that Corruption Perception Index (CPI), Exchange Rate, and Inflation have a positive and significant long-run relationship with Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). In contrast, Gross Domestic Product (GDP) shows a negative and significant long-run relationship with the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) variable.
