Abstract
Goldfish have the potential to become a way to drive the economy in Indonesia because they are in great demand. Colour is an aesthetic value that cannot be separated from ornamental fish. This study aims to assess the effect of banana raja bulu peel extract as a source of natural carotenoids for fish color brightness. The coating method uses five extract doses (0 mL, 2.5 mL, 5.0 mL, 7.5 mL and 10 mL) as a commercial feed mixture. Goldfish weighing 1.34 ± 0.11 g were kept in an aquarium measuring 30x30x30 cm3 for 40 maintenance days. Feeding is done twice daily based on 5% of its weight. The analysis of variance showed that adding banana raja bulu peel extract did not significantly affect survival, absolute weight, specific growth rate, amount of feed consumption, and feed efficiency. Fish blood analyzed during observation with haemoglobin, hematocrit, erythrocytes and leukocytes, respectively, ranged from 3.00-5.07 g%, 12.63-39.86%, 0.83 – 2.25 x 106 cells /mm3, 7.84 – 17.00 x 104 cells/mm3. The average colour quality score was 6.57, with colour diversity for the head at 57.06, the body at 55.57, and the caudal peduncle at 55.14. The number of chromatophores showed 111.00 cells. Banana raja bulu peel extract can increase the colour of goldfish.

| Additional Information: | Ikan mas berpotensi menjadi salah satu penggerak perekonomian di Indonesia karena permintaannya yang tinggi. Warna merupakan nilai estetika yang tidak dapat dipisahkan dari ikan hias. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh ekstrak kulit pisang raja bulu sebagai sumber karotenoid alami terhadap kecerahan warna ikan. Metode pelapisan menggunakan lima dosis ekstrak (0 mL, 2,5 mL, 5,0 mL, 7,5 mL dan 10 mL) sebagai campuran pakan komersial. Ikan mas dengan berat 1,34 ± 0,11 g dipelihara dalam akuarium berukuran 30x30x30 cm3 selama 40 hari pemeliharaan. Pemberian pakan dilakukan dua kali sehari berdasarkan 5% dari beratnya. Analisis varians menunjukkan bahwa penambahan ekstrak kulit pisang raja bulu tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap kelangsungan hidup, berat mutlak, laju pertumbuhan spesifik, jumlah konsumsi pakan, dan efisiensi pakan. Darah ikan yang dianalisis selama pengamatan dengan hemoglobin, hematokrit, eritrosit dan leukosit masing-masing berkisar antara 3,00-5,07 g%, 12,63-39,86%, 0,83 – 2,25 x 106 sel/mm3, 7,84 – 17,00 x 104 sel/mm3. Rata-rata skor mutu warna adalah 6,57, dengan keragaman warna untuk kepala sebesar 57,06, tubuh sebesar 55,57, dan tangkai ekor sebesar 55,14. Jumlah kromatofora menunjukkan 111,00 sel. Ekstrak kulit pisang raja bulu dapat meningkatkan warna ikan mas. | |||||||||
