Abstract
ABSTRACT Ina Mutmainah . Implementation of Contextual Approach with Quantum Learning Method to Increase Mathematical Problem Solving Ability and Self Efficacy in Junior High School Students . This research is motivated by the students' mathematical problem solving ability is low . This can result in self - efficacy levels are low anyway so the lack of student interest in math . Efforts are made to these problems is to adopt a contextual approach to learning through Quantum Learning methods . The purpose of this study to determine the final achievement and improvement of mathematical problem solving ability and Student Self -Efficacy . This study used a quasi- experimental method with the entire student population at one class IX Junior High School in the city of Cilegon . The design of the study is the design of a non - equivalent control group . Sampling was done by cluster sampling technique while selecting the control and experimental classes performed by simple random technique . The instrument used in the form of instrument tests and non - test . Test instrument and a description about the non - test instruments such as the Self -Efficacy scale . Based on the research and found that the increase in the ultimate achievement of mathematical problem-solving ability of students who get a contextual learning approach through Quantum Learning methods better than students who get regular learning , whereas the increase and the final achievement of Self- Efficacy students gain contextual learning approach through the method of Quantum learning together with learning than students who received usual . Penerapan Pendekatan Kontekstual dengan Metode Quantum Learning untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Matematis dan Self-Efficacy Siswa SMP. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang rendah. Hal ini dapat mengakibatkan tingkat Self-Efficacy yang rendah pula sehingga kurang adanya ketertarikan siswa dengan pelajaran matematika. Upaya yang dilakukan dari permasalahan tersebut adalah dengan menerapkan pembelajaran dengan pendekatan kontekstual melalui metode Quantum Learning. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pencapaian akhir dan peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan Self-Efficacy Siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan populasi seluruh siswa kelas IX pada salah satu SMP Negeri di kota Cilegon. Adapun desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah desain kelompok kontrol non-ekivalen. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik cluster sampling sedangkan pemilihan kelas kontrol dan eksperimen dilakukan dengan teknik acak sederhana. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa instrumen tes dan non-tes. Instrumen tes berupa soal uraian dan instrumen non-tes berupa skala Self-Efficacy. Berdasarkan penelitian diperoleh bahwa peningkatan dan pencapaian akhir kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran dengan pendekatan kontekstual melalui metode Quantum Learning lebih baik daripada siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran biasa, sedangkan peningkatan dan pencapaian akhir Self-Efficacy siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran dengan pendekatan kontekstual melalui metode Quantum Learning sama dengan daripada siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran biasa.
