Abstract

This research aims to test the effect of CEO Overconfidence on Cash Holdings with CEO Tenure as a moderating variable in Basic Materials, Industrials, Consumer Non Cyclicals and Consumer Cyclicals Sector Companies Listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the 2018 - 2022 Period. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling technique and obtained 194 companies with 970 firm-year observations. This research is quantitative research using secondary data obtained from the official website of the Indonesia Stock Exchange and the official websites of related companies. The model used is the OLS model. The results of this research show that the CEO Overconfidence variable has a significant positive effect on Cash Holdings, the CEO Tenure variable has a significant positive effect on Cash Holdings, the CEO Tenure variable has a significant negative effect on the relationship between CEO Overconfidence and Cash Holdings.

Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dan diperoleh 194 perusahaan dengan 970 firm-year observations. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan data sekunder yang diperoleh dari situs resmi Bursa Efek Indonesia dan situs resmi perusahaan terkait. Model yang digunakan adalah model OLS. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa variabel CEO Overconfidence berpengaruh positif signifikan terhadap Cash Holdings, variabel CEO Tenure berpengaruh positif signifikan terhadap Cash Holdings, variabel CEO Tenure berpengaruh negatif signifikan hubungan antara CEO Overconfidence terhadap Cash Holdings.
