Abstract

ABSTRACT ERWIN YUNIYANTO . , Application of Cooperative Learning Model Type Numbered Heads Together ( NHT ) Ability To Enhance Student Understanding of Mathematical Concepts SMP . Department of Mathematics and Natural Sciences . Faculty of Teacher Training and Education , University of Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa . Serang, 2014. This research is motivated by low ability students ' understanding of mathematical concepts , so it is necessary to find an alternative learning can improve students' understanding of mathematical concepts , one of which is the Cooperative Learning Model Type Numbered Heads Together ( NHT ) . This study aimed to determine : ( 1 ) Is the ability of understanding mathematical concepts that students are treated cooperative learning model numbered heads together better than students who received regular learning , (2 ) Is the increase in the ability of understanding mathematical concepts that students are treated cooperative learning model type of numbered heads together better than students who received regular learning , (3 ) What is the attitude of students towards the implementation of cooperative learning model Numbered Heads Together . This research was conducted in SMP 7 Serang . The method used is the method of quasi- experimental control groups are not equivalent . The sampling technique used was cluster random sampling . The results showed : ( 1 ) the ability of students ' understanding of mathematical concepts that are subjected to cooperative learning model Numbered Heads Together is better than students who received regular learning , (2 ) increasing the ability of students' understanding of mathematical concepts that are subjected to cooperative learning model Numbered Heads Together better than students who received regular learning , (3 ) give students a very strong attitude towards learning mathematics by implementing cooperative learning Numbered Heads Together . Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematik siswa, sehingga perlu dicari alternatif pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematik siswa, salah satunya adalah Model Pembelajaran Kooperatif Tipe Numbered Heads Together (NHT). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) Apakah kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematik siswa yang mendapat perlakuan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe numbered heads together lebih baik daripada siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran biasa; (2) Apakah peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematik siswa yang mendapat perlakuan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe numbered heads together lebih baik daripada siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran biasa; (3) Bagaimana sikap siswa terhadap penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Numbered Heads Together. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 7 Kota Serang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kuasi eksperimen kelompok kontrol tidak ekivalen. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah cluster random sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukan: (1) kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematik siswa yang mendapat perlakuan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Numbered Heads Together lebih baik daripada siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran biasa; (2) peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematik siswa yang mendapat perlakuan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Numbered Heads Together lebih baik daripada siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran biasa; (3) Siswa memberikan sikap yang sangat kuat terhadap pembelajaran matematika dengan menerapkan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Numbered Heads Together. Kata Kunci : Model Pembelajaran Kooperatif tipe Numbered Heads Together, Kemampuan Pemahaman Konsep Matematik.
