Abstract
The quality of a country's institutions is thought to be a consideration for investors, both domestic and foreign, when making investment decisions. This research aims to analyze the long-term and short-term effects between the variables of Government Effectiveness, Political Stability, Control of Corruption, Inflation, and GDP Per Capita on Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in 20 Emerging and Developing Asian countries during the period 2004 - 2022. In this study, the Pooled Mean Group (PMG) analysis model was used. The analysis shows that in the short term, none of the independent variables has a significant effect. However, in the long run, the variables of Government Effectiveness, Political Stability, Inflation, and GDP Per Capita have a significant positive effect on Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), while the variable Control of Corruption has a significant negative effect on Foreign Direct Investment (FDI).
