Abstract

Larvae constitute the most critical phase in the life cycle of fish, including freshwater tambaqui (Colossoma macropomum). Thus, further research is needed to evaluate the transition time from Artemia sp. to Tubifex sp feed. The transition time is essential to ensure that the feed is well digested by freshwater tambaqui larvae, thereby preventing slow growth and high feed consumption costs in tambaqui fish farming. The samples consisted of 3-day-old tambaqui larvae with an average total length of 6.45 mm. The experiment used 12 aquariums with sizes of 30x30x30 cm³ each with a water volume of 15 L. The fish density was 25 fish/L. Artemia sp. and Tubifex sp. were used as test feeds and were administered four times daily at 07:00, 11:00, 15:00, and 19:00 WIB (Western Indonesian Time). The study employed a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 replicates. The transition time from Artemia sp. to Tubifex sp. occurred on days 5 (A), 6 (B), 7 (C), and 8 (D) of larval rearing. The results indicated that treatment D yielded the best outcomes. Specifically, the results included BM (0.10±0.009 g), PM (8.71±0.21 mm), LPBS (0.142±0.001%/day), LPPS (0.034±0.001%/day), SR (75.29±2.8%), mouth opening size on day 13 of rearing (0.76±0.02 mm), and day 25 of rearing (2.10±0.13 mm). Additionally, lipase enzyme activity was measured at 0.037±0.006 IU/mL, and protease activity was measured at 0.081±0.001 IU/mL.

Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Waktu peralihan dari Artemia sp. untuk Tubifex sp. terjadi pada hari ke 5 (A), 6 (B), 7 (C), dan 8 (D) pemeliharaan larva. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan D memberikan hasil terbaik. Secara khusus, hasilnya meliputi BM (0,10±0,009 g), PM (8,71±0,21 mm), LPBS (0,142±0,001%/hari), LPPS (0,034±0,001%/hari), SR (75,29±2,8%), mulut ukuran bukaan pada hari ke 13 pemeliharaan (0,76±0,02 mm), dan hari ke 25 pemeliharaan (2,10±0,13 mm). Selain itu, aktivitas enzim lipase diukur pada 0,037±0,006 IU/mL, dan aktivitas protease diukur pada 0,081±0,001 IU/mL.
