Abstract
Vocational Education in Vocational High Schools (SMK) plays a significant role in preparing students to become competent workers in Indonesia. The aim of research is to develop practical skills that can be applied in the workplace. Factors influencing the readiness of SMK students for work, such as field work experience, self-directed learning, and career guidance, are the focus of this study. This research is a field study using quantitative methods with data collection through observation and questionnaires. The data analysis techniques used are descriptive analysis and quantitative analysis. The study population consists of 12th-grade students with a total population of 6005, and sampling is done using purposive sampling with a sample size of 365. The validity of the questionnaire has been tested using constructive analysis, and its internal reliability is measured by a Cronbach's Alpha value of 0.897, indicating excellent reliability. The analysis results show that the data distribution is normal, there are no indications of multicollinearity, and the regression model is free from heteroskedasticity. The research findings indicate that field work training, self-directed learning, and career guidance significantly influence the readiness for work of SMK students in the city of Serang. Each of these factors contributes differently to students' readiness for work, with contribution rates ranging from 8.1% to 22%. The combination of these three factors also has a significant impact on the readiness for work of SMK students

Additional Information: | Pendidikan di Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) memainkan peran penting dalam mempersiapkan siswa untuk menjadi tenaga kerja yang kompeten di Indonesia. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan keterampilan praktis yang dapat diterapkan dalam lingkungan kerja. Faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi kesiapan kerja siswa SMK, seperti pengalaman praktek kerja lapangan, kemandirian belajar, dan bimbingan karir, menjadi fokus penelitian ini. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian lapangan yang menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan pengumpulan data melalui observasi dan kuisioner. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif dan analisis kuantitatif. Populasi penelitian adalah siswa kelas 12 dengan jumlah populasi sebesar 6005, dan pengambilan sampel dilakukan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 365. Validitas kuesioner telah diuji menggunakan analisis konstruktif, dan reliabilitas internalnya diukur dengan nilai Cronbach's Alpha sebesar 0,897, menunjukkan reliabilitas yang sangat baik. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa distribusi data tergolong normal, tidak ada indikasi multikolinearitas, dan model regresi bebas dari heteroskedastisitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan kerja lapangan, kemandirian belajar, dan bimbingan karir memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap kesiapan kerja siswa SMK Se-Kota Serang. Pelatihan kerja lapangan, kemandirian belajar, dan bimbingan karir masing-masing memberikan kontribusi yang berbeda terhadap kesiapan kerja siswa, dengan tingkat kontribusi yang berkisar antara 8,1% hingga 22%.
