Abstract

This research is based on the low critical thinking skills of students in the science learning process, which makes students' potential in learning activities less than optimal because the learning provided by teachers still uses conventional methods such as lecture techniques and teaching materials that are not yet contextual. Based on these problems, digital pocket book teaching materials were developed. This research aims to determine the level of validity of digital pocket book teaching materials on the Ecosystem theme to foster critical thinking skills in class VII middle school students. This research applies the Research & Development (R&D) method by applying the Thiagarajan 4D development model, but is only limited to 3 stages, namely definition, design, development. In the validity test, the instruments used to test the level of validity are expert and practitioner validation questionnaire sheets. Data analysis is described descriptively, quantitatively and qualitatively. The results of the research that was carried out were 87.9% in the "very valid" category. Eco-themed digital pocket book teaching materials are very valid to use to develop critical thinking skills. Keywords : Teaching Materials, Digital Pocket Book, Critical Thinking

Additional Information: Penelitian ini didasarkan pada rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dalam proses pembelajaran IPA sehingga membuat potensi siswa dalam aktifitas pembelajaran kurang optimal karena, pembelajaran yang diberikan guru masih menggunakan metode konvensional seperti teknik ceramah serta bahan ajar yang belum kontekstual. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut maka dikembangkanlah bahan ajar pocket book digital. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat validitas dari bahan ajar pocket book digital tema Ekosistem untuk menumbuhkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SMP kelas VII. Penelitian ini menerapkan metode Research & Development (R&D) dengan menerapkan model pengembagan 4D Thiagarajan, tetapi hanya dibatasi 3 tahap, yaitu definisi, desain, pengembangan. Dalam uji validitas, instrumen yang digunakan untuk menguji tingkat validitas yaitu lembar angket validasi ahli dan praktisi. Analisis data yang dijabarkan secara dekriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan yaitu sebesar 87,9% dengan kategori “sangat valid”. Bahan ajar pocket book digital tema ekosistem sangat valid digunakan untuk menumbuhkan kemampuan berpikir kritis. Kata Kunci : Bahan Ajar, Pocket Book Digital, Berpikir Kritis
