Abstract

The research objectives were to find out the process and the result of teaching students‟ listening skill trough Computer-Assisted Language Learning (CALL) at the eleventh grade of MAN Cilegon. The researcher used qualitative method by implementing CAR (Classroom Action Research) which consisted of two cycles. There were two meetings in every cycle that involved four activities; planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The subject of this research was 36 students in XI IPA 4. The instruments used in collecting the data were observation, documentation, and test. The process of teaching listening in this research was effectively done. The students enjoyed and highly participated in the process. They followed the learning process enthusiastically. They also showed good improvement in listening skill. It can be proven by the result of tests given before and after learning by using CALL. The students‟ average score in pretest was 52.50. The student‟s average score in the cycle I was 84.16 and in the cycle II was 93.61. Thus, the improvement was 41.06. Based on the findings, can be concluded that Computer-Assisted Language Learning (CALL) especially video can be implemented in teaching listening skill.
