Abstract

The objectivess of the research were to describe the process of teaching listening through movie and find out the improvement in teaching listening ability through movie at the eight grade of students’ MTs Nurul Falah Cadas – Tangerang. The researcher used qualitative research by using classroom action research (CAR). It consisted of 4 steps : planning, actions, observation, and reflection. It was conducted on two cycles. The subjects of the students were 40 at MTs Nurul Falah Cadas – Tangerang. In collecting data, research used instrument those are observation, documentation and tests. This research shows that the implementation of listening movie in teaching learning process was quite successful, despite some limitations of this study. The data gained from students’ listening tests show that score of listening movie can help students to improve their listening quality. The mean of the students’ listening scores in cycle I was 63.75 and the cycle II was improved it was 75.5. In addition, most of the students respond positively towards the use of listening movie during the teaching learning process. The data from observation showed that the students actively accomplished their tasks. Listening movie can improve students’ skill and motivate students to learn English enjoyably.
