Abstract

Problem solving ability is an important component of science learning so that the learning process becomes more meaningful and teaches students how to use the science knowledge and skills they learn. However, the lack of science problem solving skills is a problem that needs to be overcome. Choosing the right learning model is one of the solutions to overcome these problems. One of them is by using the right and innovative model, such as using the Problem Based Learning model assisted by wordwall. This study aims to analyze the differences in students' problem solving abilities between experimental classes that apply Problem Based Learning assisted by Wordwall and control classes that apply Discovery Learning on Indonesian ecology and biodiversity material. The research method used is the Quasi Experiment method with a nonequivalent control group design. The results obtained through hypothesis test analysis using statistical software obtained a sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.003 <0.05, that based on the decision-making criteria, H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, so it can be concluded that there is an average difference in the problem solving ability of students between the experimental class and the control class. Additional Information: Kemampuan pemecahan masalah merupakan komponen penting dari pembelajaran IPA sehingga proses pembelajaran menjadi lebih bermakna dan mengajarkan peserta didik bagaimana menggunakan pengetahuan dan keterampilan sains yang mereka pelajari. Namun, kurangnya kemampuan pemecahan masalah IPA menjadi suatu permasalahan yang perlu diatasi. Pemilihan model pembelajaran yang tepat merupakan salah satu solusi untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut. Salah satunya dengan menggunakan model yang tepat dan inovatif, seperti menggunakan model Pembelajaran Problem Based Learning berbantuan wordwall. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perbedaan kemampuan pemecahan masalah peserta didik antara kelas eksperimen yang menerapkan Problem Based Learning berbantuan Wordwall dengan kelas kontrol yang menerapkan Discovery Learning pada materi ekologi dan keanekaragaman hayati Indonesia. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode Quasi Experiment dengan desain nonequivalent control group design. Didapatkan hasil penelitian melalui analisis uji hipotesis dengan menggunakan software statistika mendapatkan perolehan nilai sig.(2-tailed) sebesar 0.003 < 0.05, bahwasanya berdasarkan pada kriteria pengambilan keputusan, H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan rata-rata kemampuan pemecahan masalah peserta didik antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol.
