Abstract
Environmentally friendly body scrubs can be made with a combination of Kappaphycus alvarezii and ridge gourd fiber. K. alvarezii is very potential for cosmetic preparations because it has an IC50 antioxidant value of 127.23 ppm and gambas fiber can be a substitute for polyethylene scrubs that are difficult to degrade. The purpose of this study was to determine the best formulation of K. alvarezii seaweed body scrub preparation with the addition of ridge gourd fiber (Luffa acutangula). The concentrations used were KF0 (seaweed 0% and fiber 5%), KF1 (seaweed 10% and fiber 5%), KF2 (seaweed 15% and fiber 5%), KF3 (seaweed 20% and fiber 5%). The parameters observed were pH, antioxidant, viscosity, emulsion type, centrifugation, spreadability, moisture and hedonic. The results showed that the best formulation in making body scrub was formulation KF3 (seaweed 20% and fiber 5%). with a pH value of 7.05 ± 0.21, viscosity value of 39,124±1.16 cPs, IC50 value 650.44±28.80 ppm, moisture for female skin 58.00% and male skin 54.17%, spreadability value 5.10±0.07, has M/A emulsion type, unstable body scrub preparation, in hedonic test the use of K. alvarezii seaweed and ridge gourd fiber with a large amount gives color, aroma, and texture that is somewhat preferred by panelists.

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menentukan formulasi terbaik pada sediaan body scrub rumput laut Kappaphycus alvarezii dengan penambahan serat gambas (Luffa acutangula). Konsentrasi yang digunakan adalah KF0 (rumput laut 0% dan serat 5%), KF1 (rumput laut 10% dan serat 5%), KF2 (rumput laut 15% dan serat 5%), KF3 (rumput laut 20% dan serat 5%). Parameter yang diamati adalah pH, antioksidan, viskositas, tipe emulsi, sentrifugasi, daya sebar, kelembaban dan hedonik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa formulasi terbaik dalam pembuatan body scrub adalah formulasi KF3 (rumput laut 20% dan serat 5%) dengan nilai pH 7,05 ± 0,21, nilai viskositas 39.124±1,16 cPs, nilai IC50 650,44±28,80 ppm, kelembaban untuk kulit wanita 58,00% dan kulit pria 54 17%, nilai daya sebar 5,10±0,07, memiliki tipe emulsi M/A, sediaan body scrub tidak stabil, pada uji hedonik penggunaan rumput laut K. alvarezii dan serat gambas dengan jumlah yang banyak memberikan warna, aroma dan tekstur yang agak disukai oleh panelis. | |||||||||
