Abstract

This study, aimed to determine the on-going learning process, students responses and the benefits to the use of TikTok application during teaching speaking and vocabulary mastery. This study used a qualitative method involving a case study in SMKN 1 Cibeber.This research involved 30 students who had used the TikTok application in their Speaking and Vocabulary mastery class. By using a case study research design, data has been collected using observation, questionnaires and interviews. Data analysis is presented in the form of descriptive explanations, then the data collected from the observations, questionnaires and interview are analyzed and summarized using matrix analysis. Data analysis consists of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. According to research findings, the researcher categorized into three main categories: the process of learning in speaking and vocabulary mastery using the TikTok application, responses of students to this learning, and the benefits of using the TikTok application in teaching speaking and vocabulary mastery. There are several teaching processes used in this research. Students have given positive responses to the use of this TikTok application. Apart from that, students and teachers can feel the benefits of the TikTok application, one of which is that it can help them learn in an interactive and interesting way. Then, it can be concluded that the use of the TikTok application in teaching speaking and vocabulary mastery has gone well. Significantly, it can be seen that students enjoy their learning activity. As a result, they respond positively and enthusiastically to lessons, and engage some benefits in using TikTok application in the class.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui proses pembelajaran yang sedang berlangsung, respon siswa dan manfaat penggunaan aplikasi TikTok selama pengajaran berbicara dan penguasaan kosakata. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif yang melibatkan studi kasus di SMKN 1 Cibeber. Penelitian ini melibatkan 30 siswa yang pernah menggunakan aplikasi TikTok di kelas penguasaan Berbicara dan Kosakata. Dengan menggunakan desain penelitian studi kasus, pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan observasi, angket, dan wawancara. Analisis data disajikan dalam bentuk penjelasan deskriptif, kemudian data yang dikumpulkan dari observasi, angket dan wawancara dianalisis dan dirangkum dengan menggunakan analisis matriks. Analisis data terdiri dari reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Berdasarkan temuan penelitian, peneliti mengkategorikan ke dalam tiga kategori utama: proses pembelajaran berbicara dan penguasaan kosakata menggunakan aplikasi TikTok, respons siswa terhadap pembelajaran ini, dan manfaat penggunaan aplikasi TikTok dalam pengajaran berbicara dan penguasaan kosakata. Ada beberapa proses pengajaran yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Siswa memberikan respon yang positif terhadap penggunaan aplikasi TikTok ini. Selain itu siswa dan guru juga dapat merasakan manfaat dari aplikasi TikTok, salah satunya dapat membantu mereka belajar secara interaktif dan menarik. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan aplikasi TikTok dalam pengajaran berbicara dan penguasaan kosakata sudah berjalan dengan baik. Secara signifikan terlihat bahwa siswa menikmati aktivitas belajarnya. Hasilnya, mereka merespons pembelajaran secara positif dan antusias, serta mendapatkan beberapa manfaat dalam penggunaan aplikasi TikTok di kelas.
