Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of group guidance with self-help books by means of media to increase adolescent self esteem in class XI students of SMKN 1 Kota Serang in the 2022/2023 academic year. The study used a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. The sampling technique used Purposive sampling, and obtained 20 students who had low learning concentration. The average experimental group pre-test results were at a value of 51, which is in the low category. While after being given treatment using group guidance with self helf book, the average value is 78, which is in the high category. While in the control group the results of the pre-test and post-test values did not really experience high changes, namely at 51 and 52. Test the research hypothesis using the Mann Whitney test, there are differences in student self esteem before and after being given treatment from the experimental group and control group through group guidance using self help book. With the results of Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.041 is lower than 0.05, Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. Thus, these results indicate that group guidance using self-help books by means of media increases adolescent self esteem in class XI students of SMKN 1 Kota Serang in the 2022/2023 school year.

Additional Information: | Tujuan dari penelitian ini ialah untuk mengetahui pengaruh bimbingan kelompok dengan self-help bookdengan cara media menaikankan self esteem remaja pada siswa kelas XI SMKN 1 Kota Serang tahun ajaran2022/2023. Penelitian menggunakan metode quasi-eksperimen dengan nonequivalent control group design. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan Purposive sampling, dan mendapatkan 20 siswa yang memilki konsentrasi belajar rendah. Hasil pre-test kelompok eksperimen rata-rata berada pada nilai 51, yaituberada pada kategori rendah. Sedangkan setelah diberikan perlakuan menggunakan bimbingan kelompok dengan self helf book nilai rata-ratanya adalah 72 yaitu berada pada kategori tinggi. Sedangkan pada kelompok kontrol hasil dari nilai pre-test dan post-testnya tidak terlalu mengalami perubahan yang tinggi yaitu pada angka 51 dan 52. Uji hipotesis penelitian menggunakan uji Mann Whitney, terdapat perbedaan self esteem siswa sebelum dan setelah diberikan perlakuan dari kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol melalui bimbingan kelompok menggunakan self help book. Dengan hasil Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,041 lebih rendah dari 0,05 maka Ha diterima dan Ho ditolak.
