Abstract

ABSTRACT This research was aimed to know the effect of the type of growing media and population density on the growth and yield of kailan (Brassica oleracea L) hydroponically. The research was conducted from february until April 2022 in the greenhouse of the kawasan sistem pertanian terpadu, curug serang banten. This research used Randomized Completely Block Design (RCBD) as factorial. Consisted of two factors, the first factor was the type of planting medium (J) which consisted of 3 levels, J1 (Rockwool), J2 (Zeolite), J3 (Sponge). The second factor was population density (K), which consisted of 3 treatment levels, K1 (3 plants per tub), K2 (4 plants per tub), and K3 (5 plants per tub).The results showed that indicated the type of planting media had a significant effect on plant height growth 7 Days After Planting (DAP) of (4.67 cm), 14 DAP (11.58cm), 21 DAP (17.09 cm), 28 DAP (22.29cm), 35 DAP (37.57cm), number of leaves 14 DAP (4.59), 28 HST (6.96), 35 DAP (8.59) and the root weight of your plants was 35 DAP (3.43 g). Population density treatment had a significant effect on plant height growth 28 DAP (22.26 cm), 35 DAP (37,37 cm) and there was an interaction between media type treatment and population density on plant height parameters 35 DAP. Additional Information: Kailan (Brassica oleracea L.) merupakan salah satu jenis sayuran keluarga kubis-kubisan (Brassica). Kailan mengandung nutrisi, vitamin dan mineral yang tinggi serta rendah kalori. Dalam 100 gram kalian mengandung 2,36%, karbohidrat, 0,26% lemak, 11,67% protein kasar, 81,38% air, 3,00% serat kasar, 1,33% abu dan 58,46 kkal energy. Kailan kaya akan senyawa antioksidan berupa quercetin, betakaroten, dan antosianin yang diketahui baik bagi kesehatan tubuh karena dapat mencegah penyakit jantung dan kanker. Peningkatan produksi tanaman kailan dapat dilakukan dengan menggunakan sistem hidroponik dengan memperhatikan penggunaan media tanam dan jarak tanam atau kerapatan populasi tanaman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh jenis media tanam dan kerapatan populasi terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman kailan (Brassica oleracea L) secara hidroponik. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Maret sampai dengan April 2022 di greenhouse kawasan sistem pertanian terpadu, Curug Serang Banten. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) Faktorial yang terdiri dari dua faktor, faktor pertama adalah jenis media tanam (J) yang terdiri dari 3 taraf, J1 (Rockwool), J2 (Zeolit), J3 (Spons). Faktor kedua adalah kerapatan populasi (K) yang terdiri dari 3 taraf perlakuan, K1 (3 tanaman per bak), K2 (4 tanaman per bak), dan K3 (5 tanaman per bak). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan perlakuan jenis media tanam memberikan pengaruh nyata pada pertumbuhan tinggi tanaman 7 Hari Setelah Tanam (HST) sebesar (4,67 cm), 14 HST (11,58 cm), 21 HST (17,09 cm), 28 HST (22,29cm), 35 HST (37,57cm), jumlah daun 14 HST (4,59), 28 HST (6,96), 35 HST (8,59) dan bobot akar tanaman kalian 35 HST (3,43 g). Perlakuan kerapatan populasi memberikan pengaruh nyata pada pertumbuhan tinggi tanaman 28 HST (22,29cm) dan 35 HST (37,37 cm) terdapat interaksi antara perlakuan jenis media dan kerapatan populasi pada parameter tinggi tanaman 35 HST.
