Abstract
Character education becomes crucial in the era of globalization, marked by challenges due to technological advancements and diverse social influences. This study aims to analyze the values of character education in the novel "Bidadari-Bidadari Surga" by Tere Liye. The research employs a qualitative method based on a literature review, with data collection using library techniques and reading and note-taking methods. Data validation uses investigator triangulation to ensure the validity of the analysis results, and data analysis techniques involve several steps: comparison, categorization, and inference. The findings indicate that 15 out of 17 character values are identified in the novel "Bidadari-Bidadari Surga" by Tere Liye, including: (1) religiosity, (2) honesty, (3) tolerance, (4) discipline, (5) hard work, (6) creativity, (7) independence, (8) democratic, (9) patriotism, (10) appreciating achievement, (11) peace-loving, (12) love of reading, (13) environmental awareness, (14) social care, and (15) responsibility. The results suggest that novels as a learning medium can teach moral and ethical values through direct experiences, helping readers internalize positive values to face the challenges of globalization. In conclusion, character education through literature can mitigate the negative impacts of globalization, thus strengthen character education in the educational environment by integrating it into the curriculum and classroom learning, families, and communities. Additional Information: | Pendidikan karakter menjadi krusial pada era globalisasi, ditandai oleh tantangan akibat perkembangan teknologi dan pengaruh sosial yang beragam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter dalam novel "Bidadari-Bidadari Surga" karya Tere Liye. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif berbasis kepustakaan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik kepustakaan dan teknik baca dan catat. Teknik keabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi penyidik untuk memvalidasi data hasil analisis, dan teknik analisis data peneltian menggunakan beberapa langkah, yakni: perbandingan, kategorisasi dan inferensi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat 15 dari 17 nilai karakter yang ditemukan dalam novel “Bidadari-Bidadari Surga” karya Tere Liye, diantaranya: (1) religius, (2) jujur, (3) toleransi, (4) disiplin, (5) kerja keras, (6) kreativitas, (7) mandiri, (8) demokratis, (9) cinta tanah air, (10) menghargai prestasi, (11) cinta damai, (12) gemar membaca, (13) peduli lingkungan, (14) peduli sosial dan (15) tanggung jawab. bahwa novel sebagai media pembelajaran dapat mengajarkan nilai-nilai moral dan etika melalui pengalaman langsung, membantu pembaca menginternalisasi nilai-nilai positif untuk menghadapi tantangan era globalisasi. Kesimpulannya, pendidikan karakter melalui karya sastra dapat mengatasi dampak negatif globalisasi, memperkuat pendidikan karakter di lingkungan pendidikan dengan mengintegrasikannya ke dalam kurikulum dan pembelajaran di kelas, keluarga, dan masyarakat.
