Abstract
This research aims to find out the relationship between students' interest in choosing a major and interest in work in the field of welding. This research is a descriptive method correlated with a quantitative type. The samples used in this study are 12 classes TPL 1, TPL 2, and 12 TL with a total of 79 students. The results of the study showed that: (1) Interest in the selection of major students of SMKN 2 City of Serang and SMKS Yabhinka Cilegon is in the low category with a percentage score of 66%. This is obtained from the low indicator of interest in selection major students, namely attention, motives, feelings, family environment, community environment, and school environment. (2) Interest of the student in the employment of SmKN2 City of Sirang and the SMKS of Yabhenka cilegon are in the lower category with percentages of 53%. It is characterized by low manufacturing indicators and high for indicators of welding and entrepreneurship in the welding field. (3) There was a positive relationship between major selection interests and student job interests with a correlation coefficient of 0.426** indicating a moderate relationship. This is demonstrated by the data of the correlation test product moment can be concluded that obtained the value of the rtable is 0.2185. Whereas for the value rhitung is 0.426. It shows that the value ritung > rtable. So it can be written rhitung = 0.426 > rtabel= 0.225. This suggests that there is a relationship between the student's major selection interests and the job interests.

| Additional Information: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara minat siswa dalam memilih jurusan dengan minat kerja di bidang pengelasan. Penelitian ini merupakan metode deskriptif korelasional dengan jenis kuantitatif. Sampel yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah kelas 12 TPL 1, TPL 2, dan 12 TL dengan jumlah siswa sebanyak 79 siswa. Teknik sampling yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah teknik total sampling dan purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Minat pemilihan jurusan siswa SMKN 2 Kota Serang dan SMKS Yabhinka Cilegon berada pada kategori rendah dengan nilai persentase sebesar 66%. Hal ini diperoleh dari indikator minat pemilihan jurusan siswa yang rendah yaitu perhatian, motif, perasaan, lingkungan keluarga, lingkungan masyarakat, dan lingkungan sekolah. (2) Minat kerja siswa SMKN 2 Kota Serang dan SMKS Yabhinka Cilegon berada pada kategori rendah dengan nilai persentase sebesar 53%. Hal ini ditandai dari rendahnya indikator manufaktur dan tinggi untuk indikator pengelasan dan wirausaha bidang pengelasan. (3) Terdapat hubungan yang positif dan signifikan antara minat pemilihan jurusan dengan minat kerja siswa dengan nilai koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,426** menunjukkan hubungan yang sedang. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan data hasil uji korelasi Product Moment dapat disimpulkan bahwa diperoleh nilai rtabel yaitu 0,2185. Sedangkan untuk nilai rhitung sebesar 0,426. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa nilai rhitung > rtabel. Sehingga dapat dituliskan rhitung = 0,426 > rtabel= 0,2185. Dengan ini menunjukkan bahwa adanya hubungan yang positif dan signifikan antara minat pemilihan jurusan siswa dengan minat kerja. | |||||||||
