Abstract

The purpose of this study was to ascertain how treatment with different gibberellin hormone (GA3) concentrations affects the germination of two different varieties of coffee seeds (Coffea sp) from February to April of 2024, the study was carried out at Kampung Baru, Selabintana, Selabatu District, Sukabumi City, West Java Province. A two-factor randomized block design was employed in this study. The first factor was the gibberellin concentration immersion treatment (GA3), which has five levels: control (without stab scarification) (G0), 100 ppm and stab scarification (G1), 200 ppm and stab scarification (G2), 300 ppm and stab scarification (G3), and 400 ppm and stab scarification (G4). Two varieties of coffee seeds, including two tiers, were the second factor. These were the robusta coffee seed type (J1) and arabica coffee seed type (J2). The study's findings demonstrated that the gibberellin concentration treatment significantly impacted the shoot emergence time (days), germination percentage (%), normal sprout percentage (%), and plant height (cm) characteristics. In the meantime, the parameters of shoot emergence time (days) and plant height (cm) were significantly impacted by the treatment of two types of coffee seeds.

Additional Information: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh perlakuan berbagai konsentrasi hormon giberelin terhadap perkecambahan dua jenis benih kopi (coffea sp) pada bulan Februari sampai dengan April tahun 2024, penelitian dilaksanakan di Kampung Baru, Selabintana, Kecamatan Selabatu, Kota Sukabumi, Provinsi Jawa Barat. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok faktorial dua faktor. Faktor pertama adalah perlakuan konsentrasi giberelin perendaman (GA3) yang terdiri dari lima taraf yaitu kontrol (tanpa skarifikasi penusukan) (G0), 100 ppm dan skarifikasi penusukan (G1), 200 ppm dan skarifikasi penusukan (G2), 300 ppm dan skarifikasi penusukan (G3), dan 400 ppm dan skarifikasi penusukan (G4). Faktor kedua adalah dua varietas benih kopi yang meliputi dua tingkatan yaitu jenis benih kopi robusta (J1) dan jenis benih kopi arabika (J2). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan konsentrasi giberelin berdampak signifikan terhadap waktu munculnya tunas (hari), persentase perkecambahan (%), persentase tunas normal (%), dan karakteristik tinggi tanaman (cm). Sementara itu, parameter waktu munculnya tunas (hari) dan tinggi tanaman (cm) berdampak signifikan terhadap perlakuan dua jenis benih kopi.
