Abstract
This research is motivated by the existence of TPT Banten Province on Vocational High School (SMK) graduates in August 2023 occupying the highest TPT of 11.91% compared to graduates of other education levels, which should be something that should be reviewed because basically SMK education should be better prepared to prepare its graduates to compete in the world of work. This makes the TPT in Banten Province still high due to the mismatch between the needs and qualifications of labor in industry and the availability of labor demand in the surrounding community. Therefore, it can be said that the competencies of human resources needed in the industrial world are not in accordance with the competencies of prospective workers. This research is a quantitative study with a survey method which aims to determine the relationship between vocational training and work competencies on improving the performance of prospective workers at the Vocational and Productivity Training Center (BBPVP) Serang. This research consist of 3 variables, namely, Vocational Training (X1), Job Competence (X2), and Performance (Y). Data collection was taken by distributing questionnaires directly to respondents, then after the data was collected, it was processed using the SPSS application. The population used is all prospective workers who are currently attending the first wave of vocational training at the Vocational and Productivity Training Center (BBPVP) Serang as many as 208 prospective workers. Then, for a sample of 152 prospective workers with a validity and reliability test of 46 prospective workers and 106 prospective workers were used to test the hypothesis. The result showed that there was a relationship between vocational training on improving prospective workers with a significance value of (0.000 < 0.05) and the magnitude of the relationship was 34.9%. There is a relationship between work competence on improving the performance of prospective workers with a significance value obtained of (0.000 < 0.05) and the magnitude of the relationship of 62.2%. Then, there is a relationship between vocational training and work competence simultaneously (simultaneously) on improving the performance of prospective workers with a significances value of (0.000 < 0.05), the relationship is 64%.

| Additional Information: | Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi dengan adanya TPT di Provinsi Banten pada lulusan Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) pada Agustus 2023 menduduki TPT paling tinggi sebesar 11.91% dibandingkan dengan lulusan jenjang pendidikan lainnya yang seharusnya ini menjadi hal yang harus ditinjau karena pada dasarnya pendidikan SMK seharusnya lebih siap dalam menyiapkan lulusannya untuk bersaing di dunia kerja. Hal ini membuat TPT di Provinsi Banten masih tinggi dikarenakan ketidaksesuaian kebutuhan dan kualifikasi tenaga kerja di industri dengan ketersediaan permintaan tenaga kerja di masyarakat sekitar. Oleh karena itu, dapat dikatakan bahwa kompetensi SDM yang dibutuhkan di dunia industri belum sesuai dengan kompetensi calon pekerja. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan metode survey yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya hubungan pelatihan vokasi dan kompetensi kerja terhadap peningkatan kinerja calon tenaga kerja di Balai Besar Pelatihan Vokasi dan Produktivitas (BBPVP) Serang. Penelitian ini terdiri dari 3 variabel yaitu, Pelatihan Vokasi (X1), Kompetensi Kerja (X2), dan Kinerja (Y). Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui penyebaran angket atau kuisioner secara langsung kepada responden, kemudian setelah data tersebut dikumpulkan lalu diolah menggunakan aplikasi SPSS. Popolasi yang digunakan adalah semua calon tenaga kerja yang sedang mengikuti pelatihan vokasi gelombang pertama di Balai Besar Pelatihan Vokasi dan Produktivitas (BBPVP) Serang sebanyak 208 calon tenaga kerja. Kemudian, untuk sampel 152 calon tenaga kerja dengan di uji validitas dan reliabilitas sebanyak 46 calon tenaga kerja, serta 106 calon tenaga kerja digunakan untuk menguji hipotesis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat adanya hubungan antara pelatihan vokasi terhadap peningkatan calon tenaga kerja dengan nilai signifikansi (0.000 < 0.05) dan besar hubungannya sebesar 34.9%. Adanya hubungan antara kompetensi kerja terhadap peningkatan kinerja calon tenaga kerja dengan nilai signifikansi yang didapatkan sebesar (0.000 < 0.05) dan besar hubungannya sebesar 62.2%. Kemudian, adanya hubungan antara pelatihan vokasi dan kompetensi kerja secara bersamaan (simultan) terhadap peningkatan kinerja calon tenaga kerja dengan nilai signifikansi sebesar (0.000 < 0.05), besar hubungannya sebesar 64%. | |||||||||
