Abstract

This research aims to describe the personality and personality forms of the main character based on the contents of Carl Gustav Jung's collective unconscious (archetypes), along with the factors that influence the personality development of the main character in the novel That Summer Breeze: Beri Aku Kesempatan Kedua by Orizuka. The novel was published by Puspa Popular. The focus of this research is on the personality and personality forms of the main character based on the contents of Carl Gustav Jung's collective unconscious (archetypes), along with the factors that influence the development of the main character's personality. The two research focuses were studied using literary psychological studies. This research uses a qualitative-descriptive research type. The data found by researchers is processed based on theories that are appropriate to the research, and their validity is tested by three validators in their fields. From the analysis process, this research produced a total of 61 data points. From a number of data points found, the data was classified into the contents of Carl Gustav Jung's collective unconscious (archetypes), namely persona, anima-animus, self, and shadow. There were 18 persona archetype data found, 9 anima archetype data, 5 self archetype data, and 29 shadow archetype data. From this description, the shadow archetype dominates the main character's personality over his unconscious thoughts. From the analysis of the main character's personality data, it was found that personality forms emerged from the main character's persona, such as adaptable, obedient, wise, pleasant, calm, patient, thinker, impulsive, indifferent, closed, and doubtful. Second, the form of the main character's personality emerges from the anima, such as being weak, helpless, dramatic, awkward, and clumsy. Third, the character's personality form emerges from themselves, such as being ambitious, never giving up, independent, diligent, and hardworking. Lastly, the character's personality form emerges from the shadow of the main character, such as strong, brave, aggressive, impolite, apathetic, emotional, jealous, rebellious, indifferent, rude, reckless, disobedient, and sensitive.

Dua fokus penelitian tersebut dikaji menggunakan kajian psikologi sastra. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Data-data yang ditemukan oleh peneliti diolah berdasarkan teori-teori yang sesuai dengan penelitian dan diuji keabsahannya oleh 3 validator yang berada di bidangnya. Dari proses analisis, penelitian ini menghasilkan sejumlah data sebanyak 61 data. Dari sejumlah data yang ditemukan, data diklasifikasikan pada konten-konten ketaksadaran kolektif (arketipe) Carl Gustav Jung, yakni persona, anima-animus, self, dan shadow. Data arketipe persona ditemukan sebanyak 18 data, 9 data arketipe anima, 5 data arketipe self, dan 29 data arketipe shadow. Dari uraian tersebut, arketipe shadow mendominasi kepribadian tokoh utama atas pikiran taksadarnya. Dari hasil analisis data kepribadian tokoh utama, ditemukan bentuk-bentuk kepribadian tokoh yang muncul atas persona tokoh utama, seperti dapat beradaptasi, penurut, bijak, menyenangkan, tenang, penyabar, pemikir, impulsif, acuh tak acuh, tertutup, dan ragu. Kedua, bentuk kepribadian tokoh utama yang muncul atas anima, seperti lemah tak berdaya, dramatis, salah tingkah, dan kikuk. Ketiga, bentuk kepribadian tokoh yang muncul atas self, seperti ambisius, pantang menyerah, mandiri, tekun, dan pekerja keras. Terakhir, bentuk kepribadian tokoh yang muncul atas shadow tokoh utama, seperti kuat, pemberani, agresif, kurang sopan, apatis, emosional, pencemburu, pembangkang, masa bodoh, kasar, nekat, pembangkang, dan sensitif.
