Abstract
The objectives of this research are to analyse the accuracy aspect of students’ translation in translating Yuasa battery manual Instruction, the acceptability aspect of student’s translation in translating Yuasa battery manual Instruction, the readability aspect of student’s translation in translating Yuasa battery manual Instruction by using Nababan's Translation Quality Assessment Model (TQAM) and analyse students’ perception in translating technical terms in industry field in the Electrical Engineering Department of Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa. Employing a qualitative approach with a content analysis design, the findings reveal that the average student’s translation quality score is 2.07, indicating that the translations are less accurate, less acceptable, and moderately readable. These are due to students' difficulties with translating terminology, finding appropriate terms that match the target language's style and register, and translating complex sentences. Additionally, the lack of translation practice with technical material and infrequent practice with technical texts, which limits their exposure to technical terms and specific terminology, also contributes to these challenges. In conclusion, the translation quality of Electrical Engineering students in translating Yuasa instruction manuals is categorized as less accurate in terms of accuracy, less acceptable in terms of acceptability, and medium readable in terms of readability. Moreover, to produce high-quality translations, students need more practice with technical texts to enhance their knowledge of terminology and enrich their vocabulary with specific terms and jargon.

Additional Information: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa terjemahan mahasiswa dalam aspek akurasi, keberterimaan dan keterbacaan dalam menerjemahkan buku panduan Yuasa Battery. dengan menggunakan Model Penilaian Kualitas Terjemahan (TQAM) Nababan. Disamping itu penelitian ini juga menganalisa persepsi mahasiswa dalam menerjemahkan istilah teknis yang terdapat dalam buku panduan Yuasa Battery. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan desain konten analsisis, Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata skor kualitas terjemahan mahasiswa adalah 2,07, yang menunjukkan bahwa terjemahan tersebut cukup akurat, cukup dapat diterima, dan cukup terbaca. Hal ini disebabkan oleh kesulitan mahasiswa dalam menerjemahkan terminologi, mencari arti dan padanan dari istilah teknik yang sesuai dengan gaya dan register bahasa target, dan sulit dalam menerjemahkan kalimat kompleks. Selain itu, kurangnya praktik terjemahan dengan menggunakan materi yang berasal dari teks teknis, menyebabkan pembatasan mahasiswa terhadap paparan istilah teknis dan terminologi juga turut berkontribusi terhadap kesulitan yang dihadapi siswa. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa kualitas terjemahan mahasiswa Teknik Elektro dalam menerjemahkan manual instruksi Yuasa dikategorikan sebagai cukup akurat dalam hal akurasi, cukup dapat diterima dalam hal keberterimaan, dan cukup terbaca dalam hal keterbacaan. Selain itu, untuk menghasilkan terjemahan berkualitas tinggi, mahasiswa perlu lebih banyak berlatih dengan teks-teks teknis untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan mereka tentang terminologi dan memperkaya kosa kata mereka dengan istilah dan jargon spesifik. | |||||||||
