Abstract

The main purpose of this research is to investigate there are differences in enhancement of students’ mathematical representation ability and enhancement of mathematical representation ability (high, medium, and low) between studens who used the cooperative learning tipe Think Pair Share and students who used the Think Talk Write, This research is used quasi-experimental method. The research design used is randomized pretest-postest comparison group design. The populations in this study were students of class VII SMP Negeri 9 Serang. Take a sample was done by cluster random sampling by taking two classes at random from an existing class. One class as an experimental class I which uses a Cooperative Learning Tipe Think Pair Share and one class as a experimental class II which use a Think Talk Write. The instrument used is a test of mathematical representation ability. It is concluded that: (1) there is the achievement difference in mathematical representation ability between students who used the cooperative learning tipe Think Pair Share and students who used the Think Talk Write, (2) there is the enhancement difference in mathematical representation ability between students who used the cooperative learning tipe Think Pair Share and students who used the Think Talk Write, (3) there’s no the enhancement difference in mathematical representation ability (high, medium) between students who used the cooperative learning tipe Think Pair Share and students who used the Think Talk Write, (5) there is the enhancement difference in mathematical representation ability category low between students who used the cooperative learning tipe Think Pair Share and students who used the Think Talk Write.

Additional Information: Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menyelidiki apakah terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa yang menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share dan Think Talk Write, perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa (tinggi, sedang, rendah) yang menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share dan Think Talk Write. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen. Desain yang digunakan yaitu randomized pretest-postest comparison group. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 9 Kota Serang tahun ajaran 2016/2017. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling dengan mengambil dua kelas secara acak dari kelas yang ada.. Satu kelas sebagai kelas eksperimen I yang mendapat model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share dan satu kelas sebagai kelas eksperimen II yang mendapat pembelajaran dengan model pembelajaran Think Talk Write. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu tes kemampuan representasi matematis. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa: (1) terdapat peningkatan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa yang menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share dan Think Talk Write, (2) terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa yang menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share dan Think Talk Write, (3) tidak terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa (tinggi, sedang) yang menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share dan Think Talk Write, (5) terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa kategori rendah yang menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share dan Think Talk Write.
