Abstract

This study is a descriptive research that intends to describe and analyze the ability to think (habits of mind) in solving problem-solving problems based on polya stages reviewed from cognitive style. The purpose of this study is to describe the thinking habits (habits of mind) of students who have a reflective cognitive style in solving problem-solving problems with polya stages and describe the thinking habits (habits of mind) of students who have an implicit cognitive style in solving problem-solving problems with polya stages. The subjects in this study are students of SMA Negeri 6 Tangerang Regency class X which totals 30 students. The data analysis techniques used are data analysis and data validity. The result of this study is that reflective students have been able to meet 14 out of 16 indicators of thinking habits while impusive students have been able to meet 6 out of 16 indicators of thinking habits. Reflective students are able to meet all polya stages in problem solving, while implicit students are only able to meet 2 polya stage indicators, namely understanding problems and implementing strategic plans.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif yang bermaksud untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis kemampuan berpikir (habits of mind) dalam menyelesaikan soal pemecahan masalah berdasarkan tahapan polya ditinjau dari gaya kognitif. Tujuan penelitian yang ingin dicapai dalam penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan kebiasaan berpikir (habits of mind) siswa yang memiliki gaya kognitif reflektif dalam menyelesaikan soal pemecahan masalah dengan tahapan Polya dan mendeskripsikan kebiasaan berpikir (habits of mind) siswa yang memiliki gaya kognitif implusif dalam menyelesaikan soal pemecahan masalah dengan tahapan Polya. Subyek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa SMA Negeri 6 Kabupaten Tangerang kelas X yang berjumlah 30 siswa. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis data dan validitas data. Hasil penelitian ini adalah siswa reflektif sudah mampu memenuhi 14 dari 16 indikator kebiasaan berpikir sedangkan siswa implusif sudah mamu memenuhi 6 dari 16 indikator kebiasaan berpikir. Siswa reflektif sudah mampu memenuhi semua tahapan Polya dalam pemecahan masalah, sedangkan siswa impulsif hanya mampu memenuhi 2 indikator tahapan Polya yaitu memahami soal dan melaksanakan rencana strategi.
