Abstract
ABSTRACT Kholik Abdillah. Application cooperative learning model of type make a match to improve the understanding ability mathematics concept of student. Mathematics education of study program. Mathematics education of aspect and nature science. Faculty of teachership and education. 2013. The behind of problem from this research is the understanding ability mathematics concept of student still lowly. The reason is learning proccess still domination by teacher activity. The expedient to improve the understanding ability mathematics concept of student such as with use cooperative learning model of type make a match. The purpose from this research is: what for know about to improve the understanding ability mathematics concept of student with use cooperative learning model of type make a match is better than the other learning. Beside that this research to know a student attitude about mathematics learning with use cooperative learning model of type make a match. This research uses kuasi experiment method. The population in this reseacrh is student of class VIII SMP Madinatul Hadid Cilegon the lesson years of 2013/2014, and the objects are two class that collection according to cluster random sampling is class VIII A such experiment class and class VIII D such control class. The conclusion that gets in this reseacrh is improve the understanding ability mathematics concept of student in the experiment class is better than improve the understanding abilit y mathematics concept of student in the control class and the student shows good attitude and positive about cooperative learning model of type make a match. Latar belakang dari penelitian ini adalah kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa masih sangat rendah. Hal ini disebabkan oleh proses pembelajaran masih didominasi oleh aktivitas guru. Upaya untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa salah satunya dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe make a match. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah: untuk mengetahui apakah peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa yang menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe make a match lebih baik daripada pembelajaran biasa. Selain itu penelitian ini untuk mengetahui sikap siswa terhadap pembelajaran matematika dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe make a match. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Madinatul Hadid Cilegon tahun pelajaran 2013/2014, dan sampelnya adalah dua kelas yang diambil secara cluster random sampling yakni kelas VIII A sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VIII D sebagai kelas kontrol. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ini adalah peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa kelas eksperimen lebih baik daripada peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa kelas kontrol dan siswa menunjukkan sikap yang baik dan positif terhadap model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe make a match.
