Abstract
This research aims to analyze the verbal and nonverbal of presidential and vice presidential candidate pairs in the third and fourth debate sessions of the 2024 Election using Charles Sanders Peirce's semiotic analysis. The main focus of this research is to understand how nonverbal communication symbols are used by presidential and vice presidential candidate pairs in conveying their political messages during the debate. The methodology used in this research is qualitative with a semiotic analysis approach, which allows researchers to decipher the meaning of signs and symbols used in political communication. The results showed that the use of certain symbols had a significant influence in shaping voters' perceptions of the presidential and vice presidential pairs. In addition, this study also found that nonverbal communication plays an important role in the effectiveness of political communication, where the gestures, facial expressions, and body language of the candidates are able to increase their attractiveness and credibility in the eyes of voters. The findings are expected to contribute to the development of more effective political communication strategies in future election campaigns.

| Additional Information: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis verbal dan nonverbal politik pasangan calon presiden (capres) dan calon wakil presiden (cawapres) dalam sesi debat ketiga dan keempat Pemilu 2024 menggunakan analisis semiotik Charles Sanders Peirce. Fokus utama dari penelitian ini adalah memahami bagaimana analisis Sign, Object dan Interpretant yang digunakan oleh pasangan capres-cawapres dalam menyampaikan pesan politik mereka selama debat. Metodologi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan analisis semiotik, yang memungkinkan peneliti untuk menguraikan makna dari tanda-tanda dan simbol-simbol yang digunakan dalam komunikasi politik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan simbol-simbol tertentu memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan dalam membentuk persepsi pemilih terhadap pasangan capres-cawapres. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga menemukan bahwa tanda-tanda memainkan peran penting dalam efektivitas komunikasi politik, di mana gestur, ekspresi wajah, dan bahasa tubuh dari para kandidat mampu meningkatkan daya tarik dan kredibilitas mereka di mata pemilih. Temuan ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi bagi pengembangan strategi komunikasi politik yang lebih efektif dalam kampanye pemilu di masa mendatang. | |||||||||
