Abstract

This research explores the impact of using Canva Video on improving students' writing skills in descriptive texts among 7th-grade students at SMPN 1 Anyer. The study investigates the stages of cognitive development in thinking. It employs a quantitative method, using a quasi-experimental design, aiming to determine the effectiveness of learning progress of 7th-grade students at SMPN 1 Anyer. The findings indicate a significant effective in students' writing abilities after integrating Canva Video into the learning process. The instruments consist of pre-tests and post-tests, pre-test control and experimental results Sig. 0.299 and the results of the prost-test control and experiment Sig. 0.077. Statistical analysis confirms the positive influence of Canva videos on students' descriptive text composition skills. The pre-test independent samples test, the t-value is 2.262 while the t-table is 1.67155. It can be concluded that t-table is less than 2.262, the alternative hypothesis is accepted. For the post-test independent samples test, we can see the t-value is 0.422 while the t-table is 1.67155. It can be concluded that the t-value is lesser than t-value therefore the alternative hypothesis is accepted. This study concludes that the use of multimedia tools such as Canva Video can inspire, motivate, and enhance students' writing abilities, thus offering valuable insights for English educators.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi dampak penggunaan Video Canva terhadap peningkatan keterampilan menulis siswa dalam teks deskriptif pada siswa kelas 7 SMPN 1 Anyer. Penelitian ini menyelidiki tahapan perkembangan kognitif dalam berpikir. Dia menggunakan metode kuantitatif, menggunakan desain kuasi eksperimental, yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui keefektifan kemajuan belajar siswa kelas VII SMPN 1 Anyer. Temuannya menunjukkan efektifitas yang signifikan terhadap kemampuan menulis siswa setelah mengintegrasikan Video Canva ke dalam proses pembelajaran. Instrumennya terdiri dari hasil pre-test dan post-test, pre-test kontrol dan eksperimen Sig. 0,299 dan hasil uji prost kontrol dan eksperimen Sig. 0,077. Analisis statistik menegaskan pengaruh positif video Canva terhadap teks deskriptif siswa keterampilan komposisi. Uji pre test sampel independen diperoleh nilai t hitung sebesar 2,262 sedangkan t-tabel sebesar 1,67155. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa t-tabel lebih kecil dari 2,262, maka hipotesis alternatif diterima. Untuk tes sampel independen post-test, kami terlihat nilai t hitung sebesar 0,422 sedangkan t tabel sebesar 1,67155. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa nilai t lebih kecil dari nilai t maka hipotesis alternatif diterima. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa penggunaan alat multimedia seperti Canva Video dapat menginspirasi, memotivasi, dan meningkatkan kemampuan menulis siswa, sehingga menawarkan sesuatu yang berharga wawasan bagi para pendidik bahasa Inggris.
