Abstract

Computational Inquiry-based Teaching (CIbT) has five syntaxes, namely orientation, conceptualization, investigation, conclusion, and discussion. This study aims to determine CIbT in improving procedural knowledge and concept understanding of the immune system at SMA Negeri 1 Kabupaten Tangerang. The method used was a quasi-experiment with a non-equivalent control-group pretest-posttest design. The population in the study were all grade XI students at SMA Negeri 1 Kabupaten Tangerang in the 2023/2024 academic year. The research sample was determined based on a simple randomization technique, namely XI MIPA 6 as the experimental class and XI MIPA 4 as the control class. Data collection techniques using tests, questionnaires, and observation sheets of learning implementation. Data analysis techniques using Kolmogorov Smirnov to test normality, Levene to test homogeneity, and paired sample t-test to test the hypothesis. The results of CIbT hypothesis testing on procedural knowledge and concept understanding each obtained a significance value of 0.000 (0.000 ˂ 0.05). Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that CIbT can improve students' procedural knowledge and concept understanding of the material of the immune system. The implication of this research is that CIbT can be widely used at the high school level and can be applied to other materials.

Additional Information: Computational Inquiry based Teaching (CIbT) memiliki lima sintak, yaitu orientasi, konseptualisasi, investigasi, kesimpulan, dan diskusi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui CIbT dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan prosedural dan pemahaman konsep sistem pertahanan tubuh di SMA Negeri 1 Kabupaten Tangerang. Metode yang digunakan yaitu kuasi eksperimen dengan desain pretest posttest non-equivalent control-group. Populasi dalam penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI di SMA Negeri 1 Kabupaten Tangerang tahun pelajaran 2023/2024. Sampel penelitian ditentukan berdasarkan teknik acak sederhana yaitu diperoleh XI MIPA 6 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan XI MIPA 4 sebagai kelas kontrol. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes, angket, dan lembar observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran. Teknik analisis data dengan menggunakan Kolmogorov Smirnov untuk menguji normalitas, Levene untuk menguji homogenitas, serta paired sample t-test untuk menguji hipotesis. Hasil uji hipotesis CIbT terhadap pengetahuan prosedural dan pemahaman konsep masing-masing diperoleh nilai signifikansi 0,000 (0,000 ˂ 0,05). Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, disimpulkan bahwa CIbT dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan prosedural dan pemahaman konsep siswa pada materi sistem pertahanan tubuh. Implikasi pada penelitian ini yaitu CIbT dapat digunakan secara luas pada tingkat SMA dan penerapannya dapat dilakukan pada materi lain.
