Abstract

This research is motivated by the occurrence of the Covid-19 pandemic, which affected education in Indonesia, leading to online learning that caused student boredom due to limited variety in learning resources. Therefore, there is a need for suitable and enjoyable learning resources such as educational games. The objective of this research is to develop an interactive multimedia-based educational game (GERAT) focused on vertebrates as a learning resource for students, specifically targeting vertebrate subconcepts. The methodology employed in this study is Research and Development (R&D) utilizing a modified 4-D model design, comprising three stages: define, design, and develop. The assessment results from the feasibility test of the educational game media obtained scores of 86% from material experts, 97% from media experts, and 95.5% from IT experts. These scores fall into the "very feasible" criteria. In a limited trial conducted at SMAN 6 Kota Serang with students, an average score of 88.4% was obtained, also categorized as "very feasible." Based on the obtained scores, the developed vertebrate educational game media meets the criteria of being highly suitable and can be used as an interactive learning resource for the sub-concept of vertebrates. It offers students an engaging learning experience through their interaction with the game media.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi dengan adanya peristiwa Covid-19 yang pernah melanda pendidikan di Indonesia sehingga terjadinya pembelajaran secara daring yang menimbulkan kejenuhan bagi siswa saat pembelajaran, karena penggunaan sumber belajar yang kurang bervariasi. Maka dibutuhkan sumber belajar yang tepat dan menyenangkan dapat berupa media game edukasi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengembangkan media game edukasi vertebrata (Gerat) berbasis multimedia interaktif sebagai sumber belajar siswa pada subkonsep vertebrata. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah R&D (Research and Develop) dengan desain model 4-D yang dimodifikasi menjadi tiga tahapan, yaitu define, design, dan development. Hasil penilaian yang didapatkan dari uji kelayakan media game memperoleh nilai 86% dari penilaian ahli materi, 97% dari penilaian ahli media, dan 95,5% dari ahli IT, ketiga perolehan nilai tersebut termasuk dalam kriteria sangat layak. Pada uji coba terbatas yang dilakukan di SMAN 6 Kota Serang kepada siswa, memperoleh nilai rata-rata 88,4% dan termasuk dalam kriteria sangat layak. Berdasarkan hasil nilai yang didapatkan, media game edukasi vertebrata yang dikembangkan termasuk dalam kriteria sangat layak dan dapat digunakan sebagai sumber belajar interaktif pada materi subkonsep vertebrata, serta menjadi pengalaman pembelajaran yang menarik bagi siswa dengan adanya interaksi siswa terhadap media game.
