Abstract
According to Vismaia (2017: 3) the aim of research is to explain the world around us through systematic efforts. Every activity is always oriented towards a certain goal. Based on the formulation obtained, the aim of this research is to determine the vocational skills of making snack buckets using the direct instruction method for mildly mentally retarded children in class VIII at SKh Bina Citra Anak. The research results showed that after being given the direct instruction learning method, the snack bucket skills of mildly mentally retarded children experienced a significant improvement. The improvement in the snack bucket skills of children with mild mental retardation can be seen in the difference in the pre-test and post-test scores that have been carried out. The pre-test and post-test were carried out to determine the skills of mildly mentally retarded children in making snack buckets before and after being given treatment using the direct instruction learning method. Thus, it can be concluded that the direct instruction method can improve vocational skills in students with intellectual disabilities. Because the direct instruction method is a systematic method.

Additional Information: | Menurut Vismaia (2017: 3) tujuan penelitian adalah menjelaskan dunia sekitar kita melalui upaya yang sistematis. Setiap kegiatan selalu berorientasi kepada tujuan tertentu. Berdasarkan rumusan yang diperoleh, maka tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui keterampilan vokasional membuat bucket snack melalui metode direct instruction pada anak tunagrahita ringan kelas VIII di SKh Bina Citra Anak. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa setelah diberikan metode pembelajaran direct instruction, pada keterampilan bucket snack anak tunagrahita ringan mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan. Peningkatakan keterampilan bucket snack anak tunagrahita ringan dapat terlihat pada perbedaan skor pre-test dan post-test yang telah dilaksanakan. Pelaksanaan pre-test dan post-test dilakukan untuk mengetahui keterampilan anak tunagrahita ringan dalam membuat bucket snack sebelum dan sesudah diberikannya perlakukan dengan menggunakan metode pembelajaran direct instruction. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode direct instruction dapat meningkatkan keterampilan vokasional pada siswa tunagrahita. Karena Metode direct instruction (instruksi langsung) adalah metode yang sistematis. | |||||||||
