Abstract
Adaptability is the effort to adjust oneself to the demands of both self and the social environment, in order to achieve harmony and alignment in daily life. Adaptation occurs due to changes in roles due to development or changes in the living environment; thus, if one is not ready to face these changes, it will affect their adaptability skills. Adaptability issues are also experienced by new students at the Modern Islamic Boarding School Al-Islam Cipocok Jaya, Serang City, Banten, which in the process is affected by various factors that can act as barriers or support to adaptation. This research used a case study method to examine and explore a particular case in depth. The research subjects consisted of 5 respondents, including 3 new students, 1 teacher who served as a guidance and counseling instructor, and 2 parents of new students. Data collection techniques involved observation, interviews, and documentation methods. The research results were then subjected to data reduction, data display, and analysis to draw conclusions and identify alternative solutions that could be provided by guidance and counseling teachers in an effort to address adaptability issues. Future researchers could examine the effectiveness of guidance and counseling services in overcoming adaptability problems.

Additional Information: | Kemampuan beradaptasi merupakan upaya penyesuaian diri antara tuntutan diri sendiri maupun tuntutan lingkungan sosial, sehingga dapat mencapai keharmonisan dan keselarasan dalam menjalankan hidup sehari-hari. Adaptasi terjadi karena adanya perubahan peran akibat perkembangan atau perubahan lingkungan tempat tinggal, maka apabila tidak siap menghadapi perubahan tersebut akan berdampak pada permasalahan kemampuan beradaptasi. permasalahan kemampuan beradaptasi juga dialami oleh santri baru di Pondok Pesantren Modern Al-Islam Cipocok Jaya Kota Serang Banten yang pada prosesnya dipengaruhi oleh berbagai macam faktor yang dapat menjadi penghambat atau pendukung adaptasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian studi kasus untuk mengkaji dan mendalami suatu kasus secara lebih mendalam. Adapun subjek penelitian terdiri dari 5 orang responden, dimana 3 orang santri baru, 1 orang ustadzah yang berperan sebagai guru bimbingan dan konseling, serta 2 orang tua santri baru. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan metode observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian kemudian dilakukan reduksi data, display data, kemudian dianalisis untuk mengambil kesimpulan dan mencari bagaimana alternatif solusi yang dapat diberikan guru bimbingan dan konseling sebagai upaya dalam mengatasi permasalahan kemampuan beradaptasi. Bagi peneliti selanjutnya dapat dilakukan bagaimana efektifitas upaya layanan bimbingan dan konseling dalam mengatasi permalasahan kemampuan beradaptasi. | |||||||||
