Abstract

Teacher attitude, professional commitment and principal supervision are important things that must be improved so that teacher performance becomes even better. Therefore, this thesis discusses the relationship between teacher attitudes, professional commitment and principal supervision with teacher performance at SMA Negeri 8 Serang city. The research was conducted with the aim of knowing the relationship between teacher attitudes, professional commitment and principal supervision with teacher performance. To achieve this goal, descriptive analysis was used. The research was conducted on all teachers of SMA Negeri 8 Serang city with a sample of 65. Furthermore, to analyze the relationship between variables used a quantitative approach and used a descriptive correlation design. The results showed (1) There is a significant relationship between teacher attitudes and teacher performance of 0.793 with indicators of attitudes towards laws and regulations, attitudes towards professional organizations, attitudes towards schools, attitudes towards students, attitudes towards partners or society and attitudes towards parents or guardians of students; (2) There is a significant relationship between professional commitment and teacher performance of 0.685 with indicators of affective commitment, continuance commitment, and normative commitment; (3) principal supervision with teacher performance is 0.825 with indicators of inspecting, advising, monitoring, reporting, coordinating and performing leadership; (4) teacher attitudes, professional commitment and principal supervision are simultaneously significantly related to teacher performance by 86.9% with indicators of teacher performance planning learning programs, implementing learning and evaluating learning outcomes

Additional Information: Sikap guru, komitmen profesi dan supervisi kepala sekolah merupakan hal penting yang harus ditingkatkan agar kinerja guru menjadi lebih baik lagi. Oleh karena itu, tesis ini membahas hubungan sikap guru, komitmen profesi dan supervisi kepala sekolah dengan kinerja guru di SMA Negeri 8 kota Serang. Penelitian dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan sikap guru, komitmen profesi dan supervisi kepala sekolah dengan kinerja guru. Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut, digunakan analisis deskriptif. Penelitian dilakukan pada semua guru SMA Negeri 8 kota Serang dengan sampel sebanyak 65. Selanjutnya, untuk menganalisis hubungan antar variabel digunakan pendekatan kuantitatif serta memakai rancangan deskriptif korelasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan (1) Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara sikap guru dengan kinerja guru sebesar 0,793 dengan indikator sikap terhadap peraturan perundang-undangan, sikap terhadap organisasi profesi, sikap terhadap sekolah, sikap terhadap peserta didik, sikap terhadap mitra atau masyarakat dan sikap terhadap orang tua atau wali siswa; (2) Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara komitmen profesi dengan kinerja guru sebesar 0,685 dengan indikator affectif commitment, continuance commitment, dan normative commitment; (3) supervisi kepala sekolah dengan kinerja guru sebesar 0,825 dengan indikator inspecting, advising,monitoring, reporting, coordinating dan performing leadership; (4) sikap guru, komitmen profesi dan supervisi kepala sekolah secara simultan berhubungan signifikan dengan kinerja guru sebesar 86,9% dengan indikator kinerja guru perencanaan program pembelajaran, pelaksanaan pembelajaran dan evaluasi hasil pembelajaran.
