Abstract

The phenomenon of childfree is becoming a topic of discussion in the broader community, with both advantages and disadvantages. Indonesia, a country with a pronatalist society, views not having children as incompatible with the societal ideal of an ideal family, particularly for women. This is evidenced by the keyword "childfree" occupying the number one trending topic on Twitter in Indonesia during February 2023. This study aims to determine the analysis of communication networks and relationships of influential actors in the childfree keyword network and to identify how gender construction occurs on the issue of childfree. The method used is social network analysis (SNA) with Netlytic.org and Gephi 0.10.1 tools for data collection and analysis, as well as conducting content analysis on the main actors' conversations. The analysis revealed that the network exhibits a slow dissemination of information and tends to engage in one-way conversations. The actor @akalbuku is a prominent figure with connections to influential individuals, thus becoming a pivotal figure. A discourse analysis of @akalbuku's interactions reveals shifts in the perspective of Indonesian society, indicating that patriarchal traditions and traditional gender constructions are no longer absolute. Women now have greater freedom to make life choices, including childlessness, without being constrained by stigma and rigid social norms.

Additional Information:	Fenomena childfree mulai menjadi perbincangan di tengah masyarakat luas dan menuai banyak pro dan kontra. Indonesia sebagai negara dengan masyarakat pronatalis, memandang tidak memiliki anak dianggap tidak sesuai dengan konstruksi masyarakat tentang keluarga ideal, terutama bagi seorang perempuan. Perbincangan childfree tersebut dibuktikan dengan keyword childfree menempati trending nomor 1 pada Twitter Indonesia bulan Februari 2023 lalu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui analisis jaringan komunikasi dan relasi aktor yang berpengaruh dalam jaringan keyword childfree dan mengetahui bagaimana konstruksi gender yang terjadi pada isu childfree. Metode yang digunakan yaitu Social Network Analysis (SNA) dengan alat bantu Netlytic.org dan Gephi 0.10.1 untuk pengambilan dan analisis data, serta melakukan analisis isi pada percakapan aktor utama. Hasil analisis menemukan jika jaringan memiliki penyebaran informasi yang lambat dan cenderung memiliki percakapan satu arah. Aktor @akalbuku menjadi aktor populer dan memiliki relasi dengan aktor penting sehingga menjadi aktor kunci. Analisis percakapan pada relasi @akalbuku menunjukan perubahan cara pandang masyarakat Indonesia menunjukkan bahwa tradisi patriarki dan konstruksi gender tradisional tidak lagi mutlak. Perempuan kini memiliki lebih banyak ruang untuk menentukan pilihan hidup mereka, termasuk childfree, tanpa harus terikat stigma dan norma sosial yang kaku.
