Abstract
Phytoplankton is a bioindicator of aquatic pollution because of its short life cycle, and swift response to environmental changes, and it is a primary producer in waters. This study aims to analyze abundance, community structure, saprobic index, and water quality based on physical and chemical parameters and examine the relationship between community structure and Cikoncang Reservoir water quality. The study was conducted on March 2023 - April 2023. Sampling was carried out 2 times representing rain and heat conditions, with 3 repeats. The study uses survey methods and location determination using purposive sampling methods. The study results obtained 23 genera from 4 classes of phytoplankton in the waters of the Cikoncang reservoir. The diversity ranges from 1,746 to 2,012 in moderate diversity. Uniformity values range from 0.760 - 0.857. The dominance value ranges from 0.170 - 0.200. The physical-chemical quality of Cikoncang Reservoir water is good because the parameters of temperature, brightness, TDS, pH, DO, nitrate and phosphate are still within limits based on water quality standards (class 2) according to PP No. 82 of 2001. PCA analysis of diversity has a positive relationship with brightness, temperature, DO, pH, nitrate, and TDS. Uniformity has a positive relationship with pH, brightness, temperature, and DO. While dominance has a positive relationship with DO. The saprobes value of cikoncang waters based on the saprobic index ranges from 0,438 to 1,132. The results of this study show that the level of pollution of Cikoncang Reservoir is light to moderately polluted which can be seen from the presence of phytoplankton in the waters which indicates a decrease in water quality.

Additional Information: | Fitoplankton merupakan bioindikator kualitas perairan karena siklus hidupnya yang pendek, dan respon cepat terhadap perubahan lingkungan, dan merupakan produsen utama di perairan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan kelimpahan, struktur komunitas fitoplankton, indeks saprobik, dan kualitas air berdasarkan parameter fisika dan kimia serta menganalisis hubungan struktur komunitas fitoplankton dengan kualitas air Waduk Cikoncang. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Maret 2023 – April 2023. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan 2 kali mewakili kondisi hujan dan panas, dengan 3 kali pengulangan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei dan penentuan lokasi menggunakan metode purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian diperoleh 23 genera dari 4 kelas fitoplankton yang ada di perairan Waduk Cikoncang. Keanekaragamannya berkisar antara 1.746 hingga 2.012 dalam tingkat sedang keberagaman. Nilai keseragaman berkisar antara 0,760 – 0,857. Nilai dominasinya berkisar dari 0,170 - 0,200. Kualitas fisika-kimia air Waduk Cikoncang termasuk baik karena parameter suhu, kecerahan, TDS, pH, DO, nitrat dan fosfat masih dalam batas berdasarkan baku mutu air (kelas 2) sesuai hingga PP No. 82 Tahun 2001. Analisis PCA terhadap keberagaman mempunyai hubungan positif dengan kecerahan, suhu, DO, pH, nitrat, dan TDS. Keseragaman memiliki dampak positif hubungan dengan pH, kecerahan, suhu, dan DO. Sedangkan dominasi memiliki hubungan positif dengan DO. Nilai saprobitas perairan Waduk Cikoncang berkisar 0,438 hingga 1,132. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa tingkat pencemaran Waduk Cikoncang termasuk tercemar ringan sampai sedang dapat dilihat dari keberadaan fitoplankton di perairan yang menunjukkan penurunan kualitas air. | |||||||||
