Abstract

Geometry is one of the materials that students find difficult, therefore mathematical skills are needed to overcome this. One of the abilities that can overcome this is mathematical spatial ability. Not only ability, the theory that develops is very important. The theory in question is Van Hiele's theory. This research uses descriptive qualitative which aims to determine the extent of vocational school students' mathematical spatial abilities in terms of the Van Hiele level of thinking. The subjects in this research were 5 students of class Not only as an initial test for subject selection, Van Hiele's theory was used as a reviewer in this research. Research findings have a diversity of student answers in answering questions. Students with thinking levels 0 (visualization) – 2 (sequencing) tend to make mistakes because their Van Hiele thinking skills are still lacking, while students who have been able to reach thinking levels 3 (deduction) and 4 (accuracy) are able to do well on spatial ability tests and correct even though sometimes there are slight errors in calculating.

Additional Information:	Geometri merupakan salah satu materi yang dirasa sulit oleh siswa, oleh karena itu diperlukannya kemampuan matematis untuk mengatasi hal tersebut. Kemampuan yang bisa mengatasi hal tersebut salah satunya ialah kemampuan spasial matematis. Tidak hanya kemampuan saja, teori yang berkembang sangatlah penting.Teori yang dimaksud ialah teori Van Hiele. Penelitian ini menggunakan deskriptif kualitatif yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui sejauh mana kemampuan spasial matematis siswa SMK ditinjau dari tingkat berpikir Van Hiele. Subjek pada penelitian ini adalah 5 siswa kelas XI Akuntansi 1 yang mana sebelumnya dilakukan tes awal menggunakan VHGT di semua siswa kelas tersebut lalu diambil perwakilan satu orang disetiap levelnya. Tidak hanya sebagai tes awal untuk pengambilan subjek, teori van hiele digunakan sebagai peninjau dalam penelitian ini. Temuan penelitian memiliki keberagaman jawaban siswa dalam menjawab soal. Siswa dengan level berpikir 0 (visualisasi) – 2 (pengurutan) cenderung melakukan kesalahan karena kemampuan berpikir van hiele yang masih kurang, sedangkan siswa yang sudah mampu mencapai level berpikir 3 (dedukasi) dan 4 (akurasi) mampu mengerjakan tes kemampuan spasial dengan baik dan benar walau terkadang terdapat sedikit kesalahan dalam berhitung.
